9/17/08 - Now that I have finished Couch 2 5K program I am training for a 1/2 marathon in March 09. This is a big deal since the furthest I have run is 4.5 miles. UPDATE: The furthest I have run is 9.5 miles!! Well, lots of time to train! I have added new goals as well.
11/19/08 Still hoping to make Disney 1/2 but may not happen d/t husband laid off and economy sucks!

My baby boy - he is 30 yrs old! - is getting married on 2/2/09 to the most wonderful woman in the world. I am so excited and so proud.

I am running in a 5K on 1/17/09 and hope to beat my 37 mins time.

Mesomorphs are generally muscular, shorter, and have stocky arms and legs. These people are strong and tend to gain muscle mass easily when they do strength training. They may find it difficult to lose weight, but they may not have that much excess fat even though their weight is higher than average for their height.

Mesomorphs, thanks to their extra muscle, also have a pretty fast resting metabolic rate (RMR) that also boosts their calorie burning during vigorous activity. For weight loss, mesomorphs should emphasize high-intensity cardio exercise (20-30 minutes, several times a week) in order to use those extra muscles they’ve got to burn some extra calories, and strength training to preserve their muscle mass.

Sounds like running is the perfect thing for me to do!

9/30/08- weight up 5lbs. Need to get my butt in gear!

10/4/08 My first 5K

10/9/08 begin training for 1/2 marathon

10/13/08 started my new job in dialysis nursing

10/26/08 Ran 7.53 miles for the first time!!!

10/28/08 Did 100 push ups!

11/12/08 ran/walked 9.5 miles.

12/08 - ran 13.1 miles on trail - Woo Hoo

1/14/09 - will NOT be running in the Disney 1/2 marathon cause Hubby still out of work - but it is okay - other 1/2 and whole marathons will come my way.

2/14/09 Happy Valentine's Day. Although I will not be running in the Disney 1/2 marathon I am training for a whole marathon. I signed up for Team in Training to run June 20th in Alaska. Will post more on my blog soon!

My Goals:
Goals: complete my RN-MSN degree.

Return to my normal weight of 105-110lbs.

Run a 5K in October and finish is less than 40 mins. GOAL REACHED 10/4/08

11/30/08: fit another 5K or 10K in depending on schedule at work. Not met yet

12/1/08: weight in the 105-110 range
This may be too low a weight for me at age 52 - will re-evaluate

1/1/09: run 9 miles DONE!! AS POINTED OUT BY AN SP FRIEND!!

3/8/08: Disney 1/2 marathon-finish under 3hr 30min
and not get swept up by the slow van!! Unfortunately will not be running in this race due to hubby being laid off in November.

No Disney 1/2 but hope to run in Alaska in June for Team in Training at the Mayors Marathon. I am currently training and fundraising.

following the Marathoning for Mortals run/walk plan for 1/2 marathon.

Strength training 2x week. program. begun 9/24/08. six weeks to 100 pushups! Finished this program and really did 100 pushups

Personal Information:
I have been married 34. I grew up in Massachusetts as did my husband but in different towns. We have 2 grown sons and a 10-year-old granddaughter. I am currently going to school online for my Masters Degree in Nursing.

Other Information:
I love to read, especially Fantasy/Science Fiction and Stephen King. Don't have much time for reading with school but I try. I LOVE running (never thought I would say that).
