Hi - I came across your MG team - I do not have it but my husband was diagnosed last year. There is another MG team. The link is: http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/group s_individual.asp?gid=54013.
I joined the team last year - it is inactive but you could find a few women there who also have MG. We attend a local support group which has helped my husband. We found it through the Myasthiagravis.org website. We have a good neurologist but have found that it really is up to us to get the information and support on our own! There should be an MG chapter in your state and they can provide a lot of info. The most important thing we have found is to keep the list of contraindicated medications with you at all times in case you need any medical treatment.
There is a very active group on Facebook - I think the name is Myasthenia Gravis won't stop me! You have to request to be a member.
I wish you the best as you cope with this - it is complex and different for everyone. 2829 days ago
PASTORKATHY
Hello Meg! I really believe as long as we don't give up on living a healthy lifestyle, we will get better as the years go by. One thing that I have learned is that taking care of my spiritual and emotional needs puts me at a great advantage when it comes to my physical needs. Have you ever heard of the saying... It's not what you eating but it's what's eating you? SparkPeople have some really good eating plans, but I just try to keep each meal healthy. I too deal with pain everyday. I went to the healthfood store and found homeopathic medications for pain that work for me. However, consult your doctor if you decide to go this route. Stay connected and at peace.
By the way, how long have you been a Christian? I had to go through 8 years of study under bishop leadership and I've had theology classes. I was ordained in 1987 and installed pastor in 1996. However, God called, justified and ordained me in 1984. Our church in non-denominational. How about you and the church you attend? 2887 days ago
PASTORKATHY
Hi Meg! Thank you for visiting my page. I can relate to what you where saying and I am praying for you. And yes, I am a pastor (for 17 years now). God is faithful! I am beginning again. I believe it must be a lifestyle but old habits die hard. As long as I submit my eating to God, I win. I am thanking God for how He works everything for good for me! Grace & Peace! 2906 days ago
