How many times have I said this before??? But here I am again and hoping THIS time is the last! I need to do it for me.....for better health. I'm at the age now where everything I do will be helpful and benefit me.....

UPDATE September 27, 2012 Joining the 5% challenge -- am a beautiful butterfly!! I am going to make a change in my life this time -- I have to!!
Since I"m a lover of quotes - here are a few about Butterflies

"The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. Rabindranath Tagore

"I embrace emerging experience, I participate in discovery, I am a butterfly. I am not a butterfly collector. I want the experience of the butterfly." William Stafford

The caterpillar does all the work, but the butterfly gets all the publicity.
~~George Carlin

So here I go -- I AM, for now, a catepillar....doing all the work so that when I become that butterfly -- I will SHOUT it from the rooftops!!!!

Updated August 17, 2012 My oh my the above words were my FIRST on SP way back in 2007 -- 5 years later and I've lost the weight (at least almost 40 lb. of it) and gained 22 of them back...will I ever learn??? Obviously not So some changes are underway for meme102 aka Lynn --- stay tuned!!!

UPDATED Sept 13, 2011
How many times does one have to start over before they 'get it'???? Same words above now apply as they did back in 2010 as they did in 2007. And, here we are now in 2011 and I'm STILL saying them. Disappointed, disgusted, frustrated, hurt, angry, furious, are just some of the words that come to mind when I think of it. But what good is that? I'm here -- now -- and that's all that matters. I can remember in my 40s thinking - I've GOT to do something about this weight b/f I reach 50, then when I was in my 50s I said GOT go do something about this weight b/f I reach -- well you get the idea! Well, now I am in my 60s and still trying....I've said in blogs - I'm TIRED of this being an issue! So here's my challenge to MYSELF --- what are you going to do differently this time than all the other times???? Pause....pause......pause.....pause......p
ause.....pause.....the only answer that comes to mind?? STICK WITH IT!
UPDATE May 2, 2010
The above words were written the very first time I joined SP. They are NOW being REPEATED because I've fallen away and am having to pull myself up by the bootstraps to get myself back on first babystep was to sign in to SP more consistently - I've now done that for 8 days. I've just started tracking each meal consistently -- up til now it had been haphazard. I'm also going to re-do my goals to be tiny little babysteps that are for me only and that are doable ....or at least they'd better be. This background pictures represents me beginning this journey again --- from the start. I will weigh in tomorrow and will post that weight whatever it is.....this is for ME ----- AGAIN!

Hi Lynn, Thanks for the warm welcome and the add. I have added you as well. Yes, I had RTKR March 18 and recovering well. I have never had any surgery before so I was pretty naive about what I was getting into. I'm not the best on patience.
I gained a significant amount of weight while I was at home (now back to work) but I cant yet do what I want to be able to get rid of the extra lbs.

The weight gain has caused some depression for me and the meds cause insomnia (I dont take them much at all now).
I cant wait to get back to my old perky self!
Im looking for a light at the end of the tunnel . I hope this group will enlighten me. I will poke around the threads later when I have more time.

Hi Lyn. Thank you for your uplifting words you posted on my blog. It really put a smile on my face.
About my knee. It has been now 12 weeks as of the 22 of this month and I have had a few set backs such as illness and then I injured my back and couldn't move. So, needless to say I had a few weeks that I didn't get much pt in. My surgeon seems to think I am doing fine but I am leary. I am still pretty sore and stiff. My bend is only at 117. It feels better than it did before the surgery but I am worried I will never fully recover. I hope to talk to you soon. :) take good care.

Do not reward yourself with food; you're not a dog.

I LOVE THIS!!! Especially since I have two dogs and am so strict with their diets and exercise. :)

    Have a great day! emoticon

..Thanks for your words of wisdom...I guess I didn't really think about how a major surgery would effect me...Sometimes the little things just pile up and I'm not used to it...When the dog comes home, and things get back to normal I'm sure I'll feel better...I was born a worry-wart....God bless you for your support!
