Time to get this weight off FOR GOOD!! :)

Hello! Thank you for stopping by my page! My name is Meshelle and here is a little about me and my weight challenges.

I have always battled my weight. In High School I was the "chubby cheerleader" at 130 lbs. I am only 4'11" so that is chubby for my frame. I went to college and of course gained about 10 lbs. Got married a few years later and kept gaining and gaining... I ended up 256 lbs!! YIKES!

I went to Hawaii and came back and looked at pictures and about died. I didn't see myself like that! It was time I did something about this.

In a years time, I lost 109 lbs by exercising and a lifestyle change in my eating. I was now 147 lbs and it was the lowest I had been since college. My goal was 130 because I would be comfortable there. I only had 17lbs to go to readh that goal! Instead I gained to 155 and stayed there about 2 years, then 175, then 185, stayed there for 2 years, and last Christmas I found myself 205lbs!!!!!!

That was it, I couldn't stand this anymore. The thing here is, I was still eating pretty much the same as I was when I was losing, of course I am not perfect and didn't eat 100% great, but I surely shouldn't have gained that much. I had still been going to the gym 4-5 times a week too! The entire time I gained I was still exercising!!!! Something was wrong with this picture. If I skipped a couple work outs, I gained, if I ate one thing bad, I gained.. What the heck?

I recently discovered I have PRE diabetes. My doctors words exactly were "No wonder you can't lose the weight and keep gaining Meshelle!" She was so excited for me that we found this out! Apparently my pancreas doesn't like me and doesn't want to do its job correctly, therefore, none of the work I do pays off. My doctor put me on some meds to knock some sense into my pancreas and now all of my hard work should be paying off!!! And guess what? It is !!

I have lost nearly 12 lbs now in the past 8 weeks and I'm so excited! I did bump up my exercise to 9 1/2 hours a week, (6days a week) and have been eating right about 90% of the time! You have to allow yourself 10% or you will go insane. :)

I think I am on the right track now, and I know I am going to have success and am on my way to whipping my body into the shape that I have felt like I should be for years!!

So I received my daily email today from Jillian Michaels. Today she wrote about how to lose the "Last 10 pounds" that everyone has trouble getting rid of. I thought I would paste her email below so that when I get to that point (I SAID WHEN) I will be able to look at this again. I also thought if any of you are having challenges with the last 10 lbs it might be helpful to you! Good luck!

"How to Take Off Those Last 10 Pounds"

"You know what I like to call those last 10 or 15 pounds that won't come off no matter what you do? Vanity pounds.

The term describes our desire to lose weight that, as far as our bodies are concerned, actually feels healthy. Today's society pressures us to want to look a certain way, so for aesthetic reasons we try to be thinner than our bodies want us to be. Personally, I have gained and lost the same 8 vanity pounds more times than I care to admit.

Losing your first 50 pounds might have been tough, but believe me, dropping those final few stubborn pounds is a whole different challenge. The body struggles to hold on to that last bit of fat for survival purposes.

Now, don't get me wrong you can lose the weight if you want to, but it will require you to muster a tremendous amount of restraint and willpower. If you're really up for it, do the following for 30 days:

1. Cut your sodium to 1,000 mg a day.
2. Drink at least 80 ounces of water daily.
3. Cut out processed foods.
4. Abstain from alcohol.
5. Train at 85 percent of your MHR (maximum heart rate) for 1 hour 5 times a week.

"You can do a lot in 30 days in fact, I can pretty much guarantee you will lose at least 5 pounds. And you'll feel like a rock star!"
