Introduction Text I'm 56 and have type 2 diabetes, so a healthier lifestyle is not an option at this point. With over 100 lbs to lose and bad knees, I feel trapped because there are just so many things I used to do that I can't do anymore. I need to stop procrastinating and lose the weight now.

Be consistent Check BG every morning before breakfast. Short term goals: Lose 20 lbs Longer term goal: Get below 200. Even longer term goal: Get off diabetes meds.

Low carb, 30 - 60 carbs a day. Remove wheat from my diet Approx. 1400 - 1600 calories a day. Be consistent. Stay connected with my SP friends.

I'm a 56 yr old with 2 bad knees, 1 lazy cat and 1 DH. I absolutely can't wait to retire and move someplace where there is no snow.

I to like to garden, but the knees aren't in to it. I love my audio books (I have more than 200 of them). My background picture is all the fun flip flops and sneakers I bought and can't wear because they are too tight... well for now anyway. I will get to wear them soon.
