Well, I'm tired of losing weight and the yo-yo diets. I am no longer trying a diet, I am making life changes.

I have spent years trying to fill the gaps in my life with food. I want to live a full life with the confidence that I should have. I deserve better than I have been treating myself and I am going to do this.

I'm a pre-nursing student working hard to get into nursing school this May and I'm not going to give up on any of my goals this time. I am smart and awesome and I can do this.

    Hi Melissa,

Thanks for stopping by my page.

I know that it seems like a daunting task when you're first starting out, but if you ease yourself into it, instead of trying to do everything at once, it won't seem like such a big feat.

Changing to wholefoods and increasing your fruit and veggie intake is a good way to get the ball rolling. Wholegrains keep you fuller for longer and you can eat an enormous amount of tasty veggies for very few calories, so there's no need to go hungry.

Also, as a big girl, I've found that I didn't have to restrict my calories too much to make a real difference. I started out eating around 2000 calories a day (the recommended allowance for a woman of "normal" weight) and the pounds melted off me. My current calorie range is 1500-2000 and, while I tend to hover around the lower end, I can use them all and still lose weight.

In my opinion, the hardest thing about losing weight is having the right attitude and the determination to succeed. If you have both of those, the rest is much easier. Not that it's easy, but the right frame of mind goes a long way to keeping on the right path.

Best of luck with your journey. You can do this!
