Music makes me move
I'm Jen and I live in north AL - originally from MS. I'm married to a wonderful man who is supportive of me in ways I never could have dreamed of. When I started the SP plan in April '10 he jumped in with both feet to support me. He eats what I eat now and works out with me all the time. We've trained for 5k's and done several together. We trained for a metric century bike ride (64 miles) and completed that last fall. We're really looking forward to warm weather so we can get out riding again. ...

I'm making progress at my own pace. Sometimes it's slow and sometimes I fall. But as long as I keep going I know I will succeed.
So who am I? Well, I'm your average 29 year old southern girl who has enjoyed southern cooking and foods a bit too much over the years. And if there was a diet out there to try - I did it. But then I made a change. I decided that I wanted to be happy with me and be proud of me. I want to be the person my husband and frends see me as. So I started changing. I think about what I eat now. Before, I could tell you what combo number I would order at every fast food place I went to. Now, I rarely eat fast food and when I do, I look up the nutritional info so that I'm educated on my options before I go. Before, I went home everyday after work, my husband and I would watch TV and order out about 4 days a week. Now, we go running or ride our bikes and cook almost every night. And thanks to that cooking, I get to bring leftovers for lunch.
Some days I really struggle. I get down and frustrated but that's what my family and friends are for. They are there to give me a boost when I need it. And the support I've found on SP is amazing. I'm losing weight slowly but I am losing. I'm not dropping drastic weight and I've come to be ok with that. I usually lose about 1 lb to 1.5 lbs per week (on a good week).
I've set my rewards for my mini-goals and will update progress as I go! This is for the first 50# - I'll make new goals when I've gotten all of these!

My Goals:
I have finally set my mini-goals to look forward to! I've set the goals for the first 50 lbs. I'll evaluate my needs/wants once I reach those goals and set the next round of goals. I've set goals for each 10# loss as well as special rewards for the bigger achievements (down 10% of original weight, 50#...). I get a new book every 5# loss but since that doesn't change I won't list it in the initial reward list. I'll add it in when I get the book and list what book I got.

My Program:
My husband is a huge supporter of my goals and dreams. Together we trained for and did our first 5k and we're training for a metric century bike ride (64 miles). We run 3x a week and bike 3x a week. I also do water aerobics 2x a week during lunch. I cook at home almost every night and love having leftovers for lunch. We go out to eat one night a week but still watch what we eat and know what we'll order by heart. I use the nutrition and fitness tracker religously to help keep me on track and motivated.
Personal Information:
I'm from the Huntsville, AL area and love being here. I've lived in AL for 2.5 years now. There is so much to do and my husband and I love to keep active in events around town.
Other Information:
The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start
I love Winnie the Pooh and have since I was a child! He's the smartest bear ever!
