Hi all, I am a forty something trying to improve my health and feel better about myself. I want this to be a life change and not just another diet. Look out world here I come!

My personal Mission Statement:

"I love myself enough to wake up each morning and be active, exercise, eat healthy and succeed in my endeavors so that I may live a long healthy and happy life!"

Some of my favorite quotes:

Values are like fingerprints. Nobody's are the same, but you leave them all over everything you do.

Peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there they will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul.

A true friend can tell you things you don't want to tell yourself.

Fitness Minutes: 4,662

My Goals:
1) Lose my first 50 pounds. (I need to loose more but I will start with that.)

2) Exercise 30 minutes three times a week.

3) Make new friends.

4) Take time each week for something I love.

5) Do something nice or helpful for someone else each week.

6) Keep a positive attitude!

7) Love myself enough to get healthy.

8) Learn how to cook a new healthy meal each week.

9) Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day!

10) Smile and be thankful for what I have in life!!

My Program:
I love to eat and well that is why I am overweight. For me to be able to stick to anything I need to feel satisfied with what I am eating. My first goal in my program is to reduce the fat and carbs that I have been eating and replace that with fresh fruits and veggies. To learn how to prepare fresh veggies so that I enjoy eating them and will actually crave them. My second goal is to develop a fun exercise program that incorporates many different kinds of activities. Going to the gym and working out is only one way to get exercise, I need variety to keep me interested and active.

I live in Antelope, Ca and would like to find some local people that are on the same journey. If interested send a friend request and we can take the journey to health together.

    You painted an entire office in a day! You rock! It took me a week to paint my kitchen. Hey! Look at you .. edging in on your first goal. I'm SO happy for you!!!! YAY emoticon You can do it!

    I go to my first fitness class since.. errrmm .. high school ... (eek) tonight at American River College. I'm SO nervous. They are doing fitness assessments on the first night. So I get to walk across the entire campus in fitness clothes (double eek), and be in class with probably a bunch of 20 year olds (oy). I have visions of collapsing on the stair run, or falling over with a stitch in my side on the track (lol). If so, I hope the EMTs are at least really cute. emoticon

    Have a great weekend. Its supposed to cool down, and that will be lovely.
