I'm Lauren & I'm a 21 year old college student from Kentucky. I've been overweight since I was 13. And now... I am obese. The scariest word out there! My normal weight in high school and the first 2 years of college was 190. Now I'm 70 lbs heavier. It just hit me one day... I am obese and not happy. I've never really tried to diet or change my lifestyle, but now it's time. I am starting out slow, but I will reach my goal.

I want to lose 100 lbs. I know this will be a tough journey, but I know it will be worth it. It will be the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Lose 10 lbs - Manicure & pedicure
Lose 20 lbs - New tennis shoes
Lose 30 lbs - New workout clothes
Lose 40 lbs - New gym bag
Lose 50 lbs - Weekend vacation in Smoky Mountains

Fitness Minutes: 308

My Goals:
Lose 2 lbs a week to reach my goal of 160!

Weigh in every saturday.

I want to focus on losing 10 lbs at a time. Each 10 lbs is closer to my goal!!!!


My Program:
Special K bar or cereal for breakfast, smart ones dinner for lunch, and healthy well-portioned meal for dinner.

Snacks are 100 calorie packs or fruit.

Only drink diet colas, unsweet tea with splenda, or crystal light.

Work out at least 4 times a week. I use workout dvds like turbo jam, or walk away the pounds and long walks. I also workout at the YMCA.



Personal Information:
I'm a small town girl from Kentucky & I work part time as a bank teller & I'm a full time student in college. I hope one day to get into bank management.

    Well, this is perfect because I am just starting out too! like this is my first week! haha so though I have already made a lot of changes and hope to stick with them, i haven't done anything really on the scale! lol

    I have some things in common with you besides that too! We just closed on our first house last June! Well...first trailer! teehee but the acre of land its on is why we bought it and its out in the country so that makes walking a lot more pleasant for me! BONUS! teehee

    i have six kids, 2 are my hubbies and 4 are ours together, i homeschool them so my fitness and diet has to work around their treats and I bake with them ALOT! that is my biggest down fall i think. Taste testing!

    I have a miniature schnauzer named Alyx, and a Pug named Bella whom i love and also spoil alot! haha Bella actually just had a baby with Alyx on the 10th and our little miracle puppy that barely made it, is named Halo, like the halo of an angel! haha He is so precious!

    i am busy too and i am trying not to use that anymore! I don't work outside the home but my kids keep me involved haha! But my oldest is 15 so i really don't have a reason why I can't leave anymore and the next one is 11 so with the two of them together, I know the chances of my house burning down or anything in he 30 minutes it takes me to walk, are pretty slim! lol

    I have cut out soda for a while, but i mistakingly replaced it with sweet tea! too much sugar! I just found out my cholesterol is 257! BLAH! so this has to stop now!

    I have been walking a mile, for the last couple days, once a day. It has been okay...i have this road that sort of has a hill up on both sides and is flat in the middle so i am walking and my calfs are SO sore when I get to the top! HAHA THe first couple days I only walked half the road until it wasn't so bad!
    My biggest motivation when i do it is music. turn on a really beaty song. I use some hip hop that makes me imagine dancing all hot! lol I listen before i even leave to get into it then I just start. I also do a really good job of thinking about everything but walking while i do it! lol I can do it in about 25 minutes,

    this is with slowing down to switch my song, hahaha nad to rest my calfs a little because they happen to be burning! lol and i plan to do this till it does not hurt. Then i will probably add qrist weights to it and ankle weights, since they are cheap and don't look as dumb as pumping down the road holding hand weights! lol that is where my mp3 player goes! hahaha

    I want to add some other stuff but i know if i do it too quick it won't work cause i will just get sick of it and want to reward myself with a bad food day! haha And I really can't afford to do that anymore!

    Next year, November 12th is mine and my husbands 2nd anniversary, and since we couldn't afford a real wedding with the dress, and pictures, we will be having a renewal ceremony then! I would love to at the least be below the big 200 by then! I want to feel and look beautiful in my dress! I need to lose it by September so I have time to take it in if I need to!

    I am also going back to my home town for a visit in September next year. I moved over a 1000 miles away from everyone I know a year ago. It will be two years since anyone has seen me, most don't even see pics on line so I would just love to wow them with the new me!

    I have been experimenting with all kinds of new healthy food lately since my husband is also on a diet due to him recently being diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. If you ever find something you want to add in to your diet but find that your leary because you have no idea how to cook it or what would be good with it, just ask! I have an interesting flair for weird fish i found out! I never used to like if but now i crave it! yummm! good luck, talk to you soon!!

I weigh a little more than you but it sounds like we are both at the same point in our lives where we are just do done with this weight!
