Introduction Text Last year, my wonderful husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC since I last logged in. I bought a business - yes, I own an Operation Boot Camp franchise here in the Greater Charlotte area. This was a huge but fast decision I made and I'm glad I did it, though I'm looking for a full-time job. I lost 35lbs as of November, but camp has been on hiatus since then and I've regained 10 or so depending on the day. This will soon change as I've verbally committed to running a half marathon and doing a double sprint tri in June or July. And, my husband and I are participating in a 24-hour bike-a-thon in July, too. Camp begins again on March 22 and I'm in it to win it. I'm determined to be a size 12 by one of my BFF's weddings in May. And, since my primary boot camp team lead has found a new gig, I'm it when it comes to camp, so I have to get my arse back in shape ASAP! I may try a CrossFit class in the near future too. My weight never used to be an issue for me. Of course, when I was 22, and a size 8, and 150lbs, I thought I was fat - but I wasn't. I am 6' tall and have been since high school. Back then, I was an anorexic looking 135lbs - but I ate like a horse and was very active. I enjoy exercising, I teach spinning, I love to run and hike and kayak - but I also love to eat. My biggest challenge when it comes to changing my eating habits is this: I do not want to plan my meals for the rest of my life. I feel confined and restricted - not because I plan a dinner of sprouts and a glass of water, but because what if I change my mind? I'm a firstborn, so I'm the queen of planning and lists. Yet, say I'm giving a speech. I don't want to read the material beforehand, because if I've practiced something and I go off course or decide I want to say something different mid-speech - I freak out. I feel derailed and I feel like I am going down in flames. I feel like a failure. This is how I feel in regard to planning my meals. I don't want to be the person that has to because I wasn't before, and I don't want to plan meals because what if I change my mind? What if I don't want a grilled chicken salad? It throws off my entire equilibrium and I don't like that feeling. I'm also the type of person who once I get a "bee in my bonnet" about something, I just can't let it go. If I plan out a nice grilled chicken salad dinner yet have a craving for pizza midday - even if I eat that salad and say, "NO, pizza, I don't want you. Get out of my thoughts immediately!" - who am I kidding? I will sit and obsess about that pizza until I have it, probably trying to satisfy my craving with other random food items in the house until I've gone 2000 calories over my limit for the day and finally break down and get the pizza. Anyway. I'd love to have some buddies to help keep me in check and give me a daily dose of reality, and I'd be glad to do the same for you. I'd love to find some people to go walking, jogging, kayaking or hiking with when my husband is at work. I'd love to find someone to talk about our successes with - someone who will not be my crutch when I eat my weight in chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. I respond well to tough love, and on days like those, hearing "it's okay, tomorrow is a new day!' just doesn't work for me. I'd love to hear from you all!
