I am thinking that my story is pretty much like everyone else's. I have been on a "diet" since I was about 13. I tried everything, and at the ripe old age of 68 have discovered that good sensible eating is the only way to go. There is an old saying that applies here. If you burn more calories in a day than you take in, you will lose weight. So simple when you stop and think about it. If you look at it that way it means you can have some treats like a "teen burger" but not everyday and not every meal. There have to be some vegetables in there somewhere. I will continue this journey for as long as I can and will make sure I have some fun along the way. That is also my wish for all my spark friends - take time each day to have some fun.

My Goals:
My goal is simple - I want to live a good long life and the only way to do that is to move as much as possible each day and as my best friend used to say "Eat to live NOT live to eat!!!

My Program:
Spark People (Premium Version) is the only program that works for me and with my limited income it is the only one that is affordable.

Personal Information:
I have now been officially retired from my job for one year and I can tell you that everything I have heard is true. Being retired means that I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn in order to get ready for work. It also means that having no reason to get up in the morning means I have to find one. Finding that reason will be my short term goal for the next few months.
