Introduction Text Learned something new and important. I have lost & gained weight before... ususally with exercise or lack there of. I have always been one of those people who scoffed at the calorie counting idea. Finding Spark People, I thought... I eat fine..I'll track this food thing for a while and it will simply confirm that I have no reason, other than occasional stress, for why I am fat. Well...it turns out it is the calories. I was and still am eating decent food. I was simply eating WAY too much of it. I make 'cleaner' choices too...veggies and a little cheese instead of a pile of my beloved brie. Thirty pounds later I know why I have lost the weight. I know it sounds simple.. and that I must sound like a complete idiot, but I never could understand why I was heavy. Now I know...and damn... I feel free. I can choose to eat whatever I want...I now understand the consequences. I know how I did it this time. I have abasorbed the knowledge and it is mine to do with what I will. If I gain..I will know why and I will know what to do. I am no longer helpless in the ocean of food I used for comfort. Thank you....

I don't wanna be a hollywood stick figure, I want to be healthy. I think 175 is reasonable for someone of my stature. I want to be able to look at a photo of myself without cringing.

My little goals: I need to lose one pound at a time. I have my target set on a 'Healthy' BMI.178 I'm getting a massage when I get there.

I live in beautiful New Mexico. My plan for the spring is to hike more than I did last year and to work on the pile of dirt in my yard so that some day it will be lovely.
