My name is Marijo, and I have been a member of SparkPeople for 6 years. During that time, I have come and gone several times, and really struggled with truly commiting to making the lifestyle changes needed to be healthier. I love the idea, I love the planning, I love the potential...I just fall short on execution. It seems I have a knack for coming up with reasons why it is ok to "not" instead of building myself up to "doing."
This is the year I want to change that.
Not because it is a New Year and time to make resolutions. Not because it is the "right thing" to do.
Because I want to...because I need to...because I can.

It will be baby steps, but there will be progress.

Starting with setting new goals, creating plans, and holding myself accountable to those plans.

Fitness Minutes: 28,734

My Goals:
Overall, my goal is to be healthy so I can be around to see my babies have babies of their own one day.

In order to get there, I need to:
*reduce my BMI-it is borderline between Overweight and Obese
*shed some excess pounds-I'd like to take it 10 pounds at a time until I reach the 165-170 range (As of 5/1 @ 222)
*increase my level of activity

Weight Goals:
215: ETA 6/2016

My Program:
In order to reach those goals, I am doing the following:

1. Calorie Range of 1200-1550 calories per day
2. Incorporating more freggies into my nutrition plan
3. Getting up and moving throughout the day instead of just sitting at my desk
4. Getting out and being active with my kiddos

Personal Information:
I live in Cooper City, FL, just west of Fort Lauderdale. I moved here in 8/2013 from the Tampa area, where I had lived most of my life prior. Officially I was born in Michigan, but I was 3 when we moved, so I don't really remember much of it.

I was divorced in 2008 after a year long separation didn't provide my ex with resolution and was a single Mom for my two older angels until July 2013, when I married a wonderful family-oriented man and moved to South Florida.

Other Information:
I'm a gemini, so of course, I am a little bit crazy...have a huge heart and love being involved in community activities. In my spare time I love reading, writing, cross stitching, photography, crafts with the kiddos, and just enjoying the great outdoors that we have the pleasure and luxury of being able to be out in the majority of the year.

I was a surrogate in 2006 and delivered triplet boys for my dear friend and her husband, so all in all I have my three children and then three boys that I helped bring into this world. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done and don't regret it for a moment.

    Howdy Marijo! If we can’t do 1 sit-up, why set a goal to do 100 sit ups by the end of the week? Although we may have the desire to set miraculous goals, temper them with reality and tone the goals down into achievable goals…then we will reap a feeling of success instead of failure and frustration. Another new day is here! You're doing great! Keep up the hard work and sacrifices!
