Hi Everyone! I am 47 years old. I have been married for 25 years. I have two sons, ages 21 and 24. I am also a proud grandma of a 4 year-old boy. My husband and I own a small business in the San Francisco bay area.

I joined SP on 8/14/09. I never had a weight problem until I hit 30. It's been an uphill and downhill and uphill battle ever since...

Despite my weight gain, I have been healthy until last year. My body has caught up with my poor eating habits and sedentary lifestyle. So I am now on medication for hypertension and hormone imbalance. If I don't drop the excess weight then I'll have to take meds for high cholesterol too.

My dietician recommended this site to me for support, so that I can lose some weight and hopefully lose the meds. Since I loathe popping pills, I want to lose the weight.

I am hoping to lose 87 lbs. Wish me luck!

10/18/11 UPDATE: I am OFF all meds except one for hypertension, & my cholesterol is normal too. My goal is to lose 80 lbs. now.

8/12/12 UPDATE: I've been going to the gym for one year now and tracking my food intake. I have lost 40 lbs, but gained back 7 lbs. I have also lost 4 dress sizes. I have to lose 64 more lbs to reach my goal weight. I plan to make short-term goals, add more strength training, and cut my daily caloric intake to gain greater overall results by next year.

12/29/12 UPDATE: I have lost 49 lbs, but I gained back 5 lbs after vacation. I am down to a Size 10! I plan to focus on eating more fruits and veggies and less junk food. I exercise 5 days a week, about 2 hrs ea day. I plan to add more strength training to tone up also.

04/19/14 UPDATE: I gained back 17 of the 50 pounds that I lost 1.5 years ago. I left SP thinking that I would be okay on my own. I also switched to MyFitness Tracker, but I've realized that tracking 2,500 cal/day isn't going to help me lose the weight I have gained back. It was time to return home to SP. Ready, set, go!

8/12/12: My current short-term goal is to lose 13 lbs in 3 mos.
11/9/12: I met my goal! I lost 15 lbs in 3 mos.

11/9/22: My ST goal is to lose 7 lbs by the end of 2012.

My Program:
I am following the SP program, using the Nutrition and Fitness Trackers.

8/12/12: My goal is to strength train 2X/week and to eat 1,750 avg cal/day for the next 3 mos. I will continue my cardio 3X/week also.
