    thanks for the tips.

Unable to afford the bands, but I think have a couple of those back from having knee surger quite some years ago that i used to get strength back in the knee.

Probably another big battle is the planning, I have never been one of these types of people, my wife will testify to that. Sometimes she is lucky to get 24 hours notice if we go out of town for a weekend, throw everything in the car and if we don't have it when we get there will improvise. ;-)

Hey Dude..okay if I call you that I hope!
I understand you are all going through some changes in your household with schedules..
I know that is a tough one..there are many different ways to do this, but not knowing exactly what it is that your having difficulties with I can only offer a few bits of advice.
*Set yourself some goals..and put them in your SparkStreaks...things such as eating all your fruit and veggie servings..drinking all your water, getting in at least 30 minutes of activity per day, some sort of strength training at least 3 days per week..if you put these in your streaks..you can see what you are doing..
As for strength..buy yourself an exercise band and carry it to work..these are a great way to get resistance in, and is so portable..I was having this same dilemma with strength and another member offered this suggestion, and it works..
Just take it one day at a time, that is the main thing..you have all made some great changes together already, just keep with those habits and try to implement a new one each week or every other week...you can do this..and you will all work through this as well!

    Thanks for the welcomes.

Actually it is still difficult since we both have different schedules, so that kind of thing usually only happens on weekends unless
I get a night off during the week.

I have not logged in for quite some time now, I started out good then I got sick and was just trying to keep away from the computer some so that I can restore my health enough to go back to work a few days before our vacation started.
We had a really great time, although was backup 4 ibs so worked on getting back to eating healthier.
This past 2 weeks have been doing the jarred diet and going to subway a lot since had not had much of a chance to get out to the farm but once these past couple weeks. Made some salsa today with veggies from that farm.

Will catch up later on this week some.

Welcome to SparkPeople! It's great that you are in this with your wife. I imagine that really helps when it comes to planning meals especially. And if your schedules allow you to take family walks together or do some other active things together, that's even better.

It all takes time & dedication; but SP really helps guide us to where we all want to be...healthier, more fit & simply fabulous. :-) Good luck!
