I have started and stopped...and restarted and stopped...and restarted again...and stopped. I think I'm finally tired of this song!

I am restarting...again...this time with a better idea of what I'm doing and what to expect; this time with a clearer plan for reaching my goals; this time, for the last time...because there is no more stopping/quitting.

I guess people really do become sick and tired of being sick and tired...I know I have! And I know I can do something about it. This time I mean business!

Fitness Minutes: 37,400

My Goals:
I actually have goals this time! Yeah...I started this the first time with NO real goals in mind...imagine that. No wonder I didn't get anywhere!

So...

My overall goal is to lose 90 lbs.

My mini-goal is to lose 5lbs/month for 18 months. (I know I am capable of losing more...but I decided to keep the goal manageable.)

Once I meet my ultimate goal in 18 months (or less), I plan to reward myself with a cruise! (I think maybe the cruise is the ultimate goal and the weight loss is the proverbial icing on the cake...I'm not sure yet!)

My other secret goal...the one I have been afraid to say out loud (or write)...

I want to train like a boxer. I don't actually want or plan to box...let some chick hit my pretty face?! Please! I just want to know it feels like to be in THAT kind of shape. Maybe I'll go for it...Maybe.


My Program:
I actually have a plan to meet my weight loss goals this time, too! No, I didn't have one before. Say it with me..."DUH!"

I joined the fitness center at work earlier this month. My son takes classes that go until 5:00 p.m. and I get off work at 4:00 p.m. What could I possibly do for that 1 hour everyday? You guessed it!

A) I plan to go to the fitness center at least 4 days a week. To start out, I will walk on the treadmill for 30 - 45 minutes. Once I become a little more comfortable, I plan to add some strength exercises. There is also a Zumba class on Saturday mornings that I plan to try out. There is also something called Holy Yoga that I plan to try out, as well.

B) I also plan to follow Weight Watchers. My health insurance pays for my participation, so I figured why not. I know I need to make some manageable and LASTING changes to my eating habits and I'm hoping that this will prove to be a valuable & useful tool.

C) Of course I plan

    Honestly, you can't taste the spinach--or the kale for that matter. I don't put milk in mine, because it inhibits absorption of the iron in the greens. I like to put about half a cup of OJ, half a banana, half a mango, 2 or 3 cups of greens and some frozen strawberries in mine. I throw in a tablespoon or two of chia seed if I'm low on protein for the day. I've experimented with different fruits and proportions, but this seems to make a nice refreshing smoothie for about 250-300 calories...enough for a small meal or put some crackers and hummus with it for a hearty one.
