Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Brenda, and I'm a singe 50 something from central Indiana. I've made it this far with never marrying and never having children, but my nephews, great nieces, and furbabies are the lights of my life.

Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Brenda, and I'm a singe 50 something from central Indiana. I've made it this far with never marrying and never having children, but my nephews, great nieces, and furbabies are the lights of my life.
I'm in the process of learning of what it really means to be an "overcomer":
* I'm a cancer survivor
* I've batted with the extremes that come with being diagnosed with bipolar disorder
* I'm a suicide surivor
* I've dealt with debilitating injuries that have brought my life to a halt
* I've battled with adversity that comes with being unemployed for over a year
* I've battled with trying to keep the basics in life
* And, I've dealt with loss
The one thing I have to say about all of that is that I've fought back through all of that, never giving up, even if I did feel like it, or even try, at times. But, I'm still here. I'm still breathing. I'm still living. I'm still surviving.
No. I'm not just surviving, I'm beating the odds.
Since an injury in October 2016, I've gained nearly 100 lbs, reaching my highest weight of 272 lbs. It was at that point that I vowed that I would not allow myself to go any higher. The process of reversing the course has not been easy, and has been full of obstacles and even pits and valleys. But I'm doing it.
In the process, I have:
* February 2018: Started seeking alternative help for my debilitating injuries, which have completely reversed the effect and pain levels to nearly nothing, and I have regained full mobility
* May 2018: I started a new job that allows me to work from home 95% of the time, with me traveling every 9th week for one week, thus lowering my stress levels
The list is still growing, but those are just the beginning. I'm turning this ship around, and I'm going to totally rock this weight loss!

Fitness Minutes:

My Goals:
1) To lose 1 to 2 lbs per week (slow and steady wins the race)
2) Implement a 30 minutes of cardio per day (minimum of 5 days per week), plus 3 days of 45 minutes of strength training per week regimen
3) Incorporate 15 minutes of yoga in the morning and evening
4) Keep eating out to a minimum
My Program:
I am choosing to eat smart. I am not following any "specific" plan, other than just to be smart about the foods, how much, and how often I eat. I've tried so many different plans and programs over the past 35 years, and have had various levels of success and failure. So, I'm knowledgeable of what to incorporate. Plus, I do have a trusted nutritionist to turn to when I have questions or concerns.
My fitness program is to keep it simple. I can see the top of the fitness center building from my driveway, so I have no excuses. Plus, there are many fitness/walking/biking trails/paths in my area. My plan is to get in a minimum of 30 minutes per day (with a minimum of 5 days per week). These may include classes at the gym. I also plan to incorporate 45 minutes of strength training 3 days per week. I am also planning on doing 15 minutes of yoga in the morning and in the evening.
Personal Information:
I currently reside in Westfield, Indiana. I work in the Information Technology world as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst. I am not married and no children, but have two furbabies named Sampson (13) and Boots (7). I also have 4 nephews and 2 great nieces.
Other Information:
Psalm 40:2-3 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.
2 Timothy 1:7 The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
