Introduction Text Well, it has now been a couple of years since the last log in to my Spark page. I know there should be no excuses but in August 2012 my elderly mother moved to a care facility near me. Caring for her was a very stressful time and I lost interest in looking after myself. Then, after waiting several weeks for the results to my January 2013 mammogram, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had my surgery and started chemotherapy on October 1st, 2013. My mother then past on October 27th, 2013. It was as if I couldn't stand the stress, it was unbearable. Now, May 2014, a month out of chemo, I am just now beginning to walk and lift light weights. I have opted out of radiation but am scheduled for additional surgery in the next few weeks. I need my body back in shape to fight to remain cancer free and I know that it is through Sparkpeople I have always found success.

I plan to be in the best shape of my life by age 55. Goals for 2014 are: 1. Live!!!

I have two German Shepherd Dogs, Jada and Kayla and two cats, Jimmy and Sweetie. I'm an artist/housewife but now have decided my new job is to become the best ME I can be.
