Since about age 14, my weight has been a yo-yo. Before that, my elderly neighbor would refer to me as "beanpole." My pod has certainly filled out! Every time I get within striking distance of a normal BMI, I start to put the weight back on. I discovered Spark People when I was in an upward spiral in May 2010. Update: Finally achieved this in October 2011 and what is even more amazing, have stayed at "normal".
8/1/12 Have been consistent in slowly losing weight, need to get 6 more pounds off to get to MoM statis. Thank you friends for your encouragement in this journey.
9/9/17 Since 2013 we have lost my aunt, my brother, and 3 of our remaining parents, and cleaned out and sold 2 growing up homes. .Simply put, I lost my motivation. My husband and I have both retired in the last 8 months. We did a mission's trip to Alaska where we flew around the peak of Mt. Denali. My motivation battery has been recharge. The Beck Diet Solution by Judith Beck and 100 Day of Dieting by Linda Spangle have been very helpful to me.

-To not need by BP medication.
-For my BMI to be in a healthy range. Achieved this the first time 10/21/11. I LOVE MY SCALE!

-Run a 5K - done 7/31/11
-Run a 10K - done 9/3/11
75 mile MS:City to Bike Tour 9/24/11 - done
-Run a 12K - 10/22 - done
-Run/walk a half marathon in 2012 - DONE!!!! 11/17/2012
Be able up bike up Trythall Road Hill and Hill Road Hills without stopping
-Exercise 1000 minutes/month in 2012 (able to do 8/12 months in 2011)
2013: Continue to work on improving my time on 5K
Compete in a Marathon Relay April 2013
8/17 Have been walking with my husband and biking. We even did a 5K together in July.

Rewards: When I leave the 140ville, I will celebrate. When I stay in the 130s, I will really celebrate.

Personal Information:
Married to my best friend for 43 years.
Mother of 2 daughters, both married to wonderful men.
Grandmother to 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons ranging in age from 2 to 16.

Other Information:
In my 20's I was living a hippie lifestyle. I told God I didn't think he existed, but if he did, I would make a deal: "You leave me alone and I'll leave you alone." I am so thankful He didn't keep His end of the bargain. I had an aunt to die, which made me think about what would happen when I die. Became a believer in Jesus Christ at age 23.

    Sharon sorry you have had such an aweful week this week with snow from hell, Weather here wasn't that bad this week, what was frustrating to me was having to walk on the edge of busy roads because the sdewalks were not shovel and the snowbanks are over my head.
    My page was decorated for spring for a SE for the yellow roses team- it was a choice of valentnes or spring I choose spring. Because it would be able to be left that way longer I don't have a lot of time to decorate my sprak page so when I change it I want it to be something that can stay there awhile.

    Thanks so much for the cocoa! This has been the coldest winter in recent years and it will be enjoyed! I know you are cold too. Just remember, two months until spring! You made me smile about the birds... Gary will put our leftover toast and crumbs from his cereal. Darn if Tyler [our dog] doesn't think it is for him and before I know it, he has wolfed it all down! Stay warm my friend!

    Hi Sharon,
    The Fit2Feast challenge is something I found on Spark. The main idea is to exercise 10 minutes each day during November. I decided to give it a try, since getting started is usually the hardest part and end up doing more than the 10 minutes.
    How are you? Do you have special plans for Thanksgiving?
