Apr 2012:
I just finished BLC18 on the Azure Destinations team, and wow, what a ride it was! I also finished my second round with the Powerful Pink Ninjas...they are my rock, my comfort, my anchor! Between the two teams, I have learned so much in the past 12 weeks about myself, and feel like a different person. I am more comfortable and confident in my current body, and look forward to my continued transformation, both inside and out. In the past 12 weeks, I have DOUBLED my weekly fitness minutes from 100 to 200. I take weekly Zumba and Hot Yoga classes, and walk/run 3x a week to complete my FirstDay to 5K program. The ultimate goal is still Tough Mudder, but I have revised my schedule. Here are my plans:

BLC Club 19 - Focus will be on nutrition and weight loss this round!
Powerful Pink Ninjas - Focus will be on contributing to the community, and giving back, as I have received so much
Slow Carb Diet - Focus will be on being an active team captain setting a good example for others
First Day to 5K program - Tomorrow I complete week 6! Only 3 weeks to go! I will be ready for my first 5K on Memorial Day weekend!
Tough Mudder - They're coming to Va Beach in Jun 2013! I resolve to form a team early enough to participate in this event, and to be in top physical condition in time for the event.

Jan 2012:
I am so excited to enter 2012 and accomplish my new fitness goals! Here are my plans for the coming year:

Biggest Loser Club # 18 - my first BLC challenge!
Supreme 90 DVDs - complete my first round at my own pace
Tough Mudder competition - train NOW to be ready for the event in Oct/Nov 2012
Slow Carb Diet - continue to make this a lifestyle change

My Pink Ninja goal, Sep 28 2011:
I want to lose at least 20 pounds by Dec. 28 so that I can feel more confident when I look in the mirror. If I reach this goal, I will reward myself by buying a new Zumba outfit to show off my svelte silhouette!

My Program:
I am completing another round of the 4 Hour Body program for 12 weeks.
1. Slow Carb lifestyle(similar to Paleo diet)

2. High intensity interval training on the Treadclimber for cardio

3. Lots of kettlebell swings!

4. Weekly Zumba just for fun!

    Been thinking about you and wondering how you fared Sandy (and I don't mean Smertz). My sister's home in New Jersey is pretty much done for.

    How are you doing this round?

    I started another round of Whole30 yesterday and a bunch of us are doing a Clean Eating November.

    I'm off to look at this kettlebell routine. ST is my new MUST kick it as I am getting wimpier and wimpier! Which routine is it. That link just goes to Prevention and there are multiple!

    emoticon Thank you ma'am! How are you??? I was just thinking about you recently. I'm finally back to fitness and watching what I eat more closely after doing a real number being in HI for 4 months!!! Aye yah! I tell you! I came home with nothing new except 20 lbs.!! emoticon Sorry, if I already told you! I've been off an on the site since I've been back but only just recently back on strong as I'm doing my favorite Biggest Loser Challenge and am determined to lose big! emoticon
    WHAT have you been upto? I'm into trying new Fall veggies and incorporating a LOT more beans, legumes, and Freggies into all my meals and squeezing out the large portions of meat! I just tried butternut squash for the 1st time! YUM! I plan on trying emoticon in savory dishes this season for the 1st time too! Having fun with Fall fitness and food! Don't be a stranger! Hope you're having a nice Fall too! emoticon

    So there are LOTS of wonderful recipes I've tried this month. Do you follow facebook? But this one is too good not to share. Besides, today I'm doing 56 RAOK and it's raining out so I have to start INDOORS! emoticon

    Avocado with Warm Bacon Cilantro Dressing
    1/3 pound sliced bacon (about 4 slices)
    2 firm-ripe avocados, each pitted, peeled, and cut into 4 to 6 wedges
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1/4 cup water
    2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
    Kosher salt
    Freshly ground black pepper
    2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

    Cook bacon in a skillet over medium-low heat until crisp.
    Drain bacon on paper towels. Remove pan from heat and pour the bacon fat into a bowl. Add 2 tbsp. bacon fat back into your skillet.
    Divide the sliced avocado wedges among 4 plates.

    Heat bacon fat over medium heat. Add garlic, 1/4 cup water, lime juice, and sugar and simmer for 1 minute, stirring.
    Season with salt and pepper. Stir in cilantro.
    Crumble the bacon in to the skillet.

    Stir until combined.
    Spoon over avocado wedges and serve immediately.
    Lick your plate.
