Hi, Nancy! When my family decided to go low-carb, it was also in conjunction with a need to be gluten/grain-free. After looking at a number of approaches, we decided that a 'paleo' approach (though not necessarily low-carb... my 10-year-old daughter eats as high carb as she wants) suited us best... fresh, whole food, as much as we wanted (no dieting involved), and a lifestyle we could sustain indefinitely (it's been three years now... my husband and I have each lost 60ish pounds, and everyone's health has been restored).

The book I recommend most is 'Practical Paleo' by Diane Sanfilippo... it explains, has 30-day meal plans for TWELVE different health concerns, the recipes, shopping lists and tear-out guides to support the 30 day plan you choose (no, I don't get residuals, LOL).

If you're interested, we're staring a September Challenge on Monday... you're more than welcome to join!
