Introduction Text Another birthday down and I am still here on earth! Good sign. I feel better than ever, but still struggling to lose that darn weight. I am focusing on working harder in the gym and eater smarter. It will come. 1/1/12..Ah, a new year. A new chance to get it all right, or at least that is what it feels like. Put away the disappointments and fears and hit life head on! Take no prisoners! Not sure how that relates here, but I plan on making this a good year and moving forward on my goals. I have a good feeling about things. 11/29/10 I am on sparkpeople to discover the healthy woman inside me. It is quite a journey and I hope to meet many new friends along the way. Today has been a good day, I am seeing better numbers from my blood tests, so I am thrilled about that. Healthy me is coming round. 10/21/10 In more ways than one, it's a new day. I am well in to my journey and have lost close to 50 pounds. I have certainly learned that injuries can sidetrack you, but don't have to totally derail you. What ever the struggle, just keep moving forward one step at a time - or crutch at a time if that is the case. You can still make progress. I am crutch free and ready to fully recover and rehab. I am so happy to be at the tail end of the injuries. 9/1/10 - Free movement went down rather quickly. What is going on here? I have a stress (hairline) fracure of the proximal tibia. That is right under the knee actually. I can't believe I am on broken bone #2. 45 pounds down. How I enjoyed my few weeks of walking normally! 7-28-10 - 5 months down, heading in to 6. I can move freely... still icing things (a lot), but I don't care I am walking without a limp for the first time in over a year. This is a good thing! Month 6 is going to be my month o' nutrition and I am going to totally get down my eating healthy. 6-30-10 Steady on....wow, almost through month 4. I have learned so much about health, fitness and nutrition. Thank you SparkPeople! The tools here are so helpful. I started this journey not able to go up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath, not to mention that my knee made it painful, so I would go one step at a time. Today... I can hit the stairs with some pep in my step. I can rock the elliptical for one half hour!! I was told that 90% of success is consistency. I aim for that, I will have times that nothing moves (like 3 weeks! ugh). I am still here and that in itself is a success. I am still here and I am still hitting the gym and I am still reading my food labels. Steady on!

Major goal to lose 160 pounds. 4/15/10 - 10% of the way there!! Feeling more energy! 5/11/10 - 15% of the way there. 6/22/10 - 30 pounds lost, 10% of my body weight!! Woohoo

Everyday if possible. Cardio and strength I think I like lifting weights.

I started as out of shape as out of shape can be. I was overweight, hurt my knee and had knee surgery for a torn meniscus, which took it to a whole other level. Yikes.
