This is a new start for me. My goals are being revamped. I gained a lot of weight in 2013 and I can't do that again. 2014 brings my 60th birthday and I want to feel better! My Fitbit is a great is Jolly.

Well, I got a slap in the face and a kick in the butt. I am moving again...and on my way to Paris, although it is only a challenge whatever it takes to get me going and serious.

I am a year away from 60. A nice round number! I got down to goal once. I will do it again hopefully before I hit that nice round number.

My oldest sister, 62 just had her second mini stroke. The first was hidden in her migraines so wasn't recognized until this one hit. She is getting the medical attention she needs but I picked the wrong summer to want to stay home. The neurologist appt is today so I am anxious to hear what she needs to change. DS lost 100 pounds and has kept it off the last 10 years but recently her depression has been more. To her she doesn't know which to worry about more - the bi-polar or stroke. I have faith the Dr will put everything in perspective for her. For me, I guess since I have just had to watch her with the disease from a distance the stroke is more worrisome.

Anyway, I am back at it....moving on to day 4 tomorrow and closer to Paris!
Okay since surgery I have blown everything I learned went down the pooper. I had surgery Dec 17... But that is not an excuse cuz I was to keep walking. I just didn't log anything. I didn't visit my SP friends and I do miss y'all. So give me time after my company leaves tomorrow to catch up and get on track. My weight of course went the wrong direction....oh deary me!
Let me see what I can accomplish before my59th birthday! No traveling north to WI, KY, IN this summer so I have no excuses what so ever...

As my 58th birthday approaches I realize how much healthier I am now. I have lost 51 pounds since January 2011 - 40 of that is with the tracking & support of SP pals!! Quite an accomplishment that I stuck out a year exercising! I usually exercise 3 months and take 3 years off! We will be on a 7 day cruise with friends and ex-co-workers to Mexico on my birthday and SP anniversary. Probably the best way to celebrate and a very good test to see how I do with no SP tracking available.

I just had my 57th birthday. It is time for me to get serious instead of the constant roller coaster dieting.

About 1.5 months before my 58th birthday I reached my goal of 130# - dropping 40 #. Now my goal is to MAINTAIN. I know I can't succeed without the support of my SP friends.

Exercise is going well. I need to imcrease my strength training, focus on tracking and eating nutritional meals and portion control. I am on the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge which will help me focus on sweets.

at least 5 glasses of water/8 liquids
at least 3 freggies
sleep 8 hours
calories 1200 average/day
fiber 30 - 40
exercise 30 min/7 x week

Personal Information:
I retired in January 2010 after a 31 year career with the government. I was in CA since 1985. We moved to Kerrville to be closer to my husband's family. I can visit my family in WI and my kids in KY, IN and CA...which is what retirement is about:)

Other Information:
When I retired a friend told me that I would find time to take care of myself. It took me 17 months to get started using the normal excuses plus the move plus setting up the house, etc, etc....but here I am.
I have been with SP less than a year and have stuck to it - I usually stuck to exercise and healthy eating for 90 days at a time. Look what you all have done for me! Thanks for all the support. I never feel alone:)
