I was always overweight. Well I guess you could say Obese. I was never the skinny girl. Every since I was four years old I have been big. My mom always told me I was big boned and I would never be stick thin. She has never discouraged me from trying to become a healthy weight, however, she has actually always helped me. It's just a huge struggle for me. It always has been and unfortunately even when I do hit an ideal weight for my height it will continue to be a struggle. I am here now to try to change this once and for all at the young age of 20. I want to be able to look back at my young adult hood and enjoy my memories... I do not want to look back and remember wanting to lose weight and not wholeheartedly trying. So here it is day one.... June 28th 2010.

My Goals:
Health goals:
-Fall within a healthy BMI
-Lower my blood pressure and get off my medications
-Quit smoking
-Have normal blood work (MET 8/4/2010)

Weight:
SW: 243
G1: 225
G2: 215
G3: 205
G4: 200
G5: 190
G6: 180
G7: 170
Final Goal (for now): 160!

Fitness Goals:
-Complete a 5k (signed up for one in October!)
-Complete a 10k (by April 2011)
-Complete a half marathon (Before my one year sparaversary!)


My Program:
Eating between 1400-1800 Calories a day

Eating Clean! NO MORE PROCESSED FOOD!

Bought a Treadmill
- 45 Minutes of interval training 3 days a week
-45 minutes of walking and inclines 2 days a week
-1 mile jogs once a week

Strength training:
- Upper body 1x/week
- Lower body 1x/week
- Core DAILY



Personal Information:
I am a 20 year old student from Mid-Michigan Studying to become a RD!

I also work part time as a pharmacy technician and am a part time "mommy" for my boyfriends 4 year old boy!

I love learning about health related topics and worked in 2 gyms in highschool.

I am here to change my predisposed health issues so I can live a long, healthy, happy, active life!

    What levels are you doing on the treadmill? Like incline and pace? I never know what I should start doing that will give me a great workout without killing me in the first few minutes. I like intervals but can't "jog" for very long yet.

    I really like the walk at home dvds from Leslie Sansone. I try to do anywhere from an 1hr-2hr depending on the day. I also go walking around a lake that is nearby. I haven't gotten too into weight lifting yet but I really want to start since muscle burns more than fat! Do you do any weight training?

    Welcome to the Couch to 5k running group!!!! Stop by the message board and introduce yourself to the team. On the team page you will find a thread for each training week. Click on week one and post were you are at in your training. This is a great way to meet others who are in the same phase of training as you. Some of my best friends were in my training week one and we worked through the program together sharing victories, questions, comments, and ideas. I look forward to learning more about you. I will be popping in on the Weeks 1 - 3 training to help answer any questions that might pop up and to cheer you on to your goals! Be blessed! Be a runner!
