23 year old stay at home wife and mom of one, trying to eat right and shed a few pounds. :)

Fitness Minutes: 730

My Goals:
I'm 5'3", approx 155 lbs. 21.6% body fat, but I'd like to lose 20-30 lbs. Last year I lost 20 lbs but I (unknowingly) did it all wrong. I was unhappy with my body, I watched weight loss tv shows & youtube body transformation videos for motivation. I was eating about 1200 calories a day & working out excessively. Most days I burned between 500-800 calories. I lost the weight, but my body couldn't keep it up. I reverted back to my old ways & gained the weight back. These days, I know I need to eat more calories to retain muscle & keep up my metabolism. The weight will come off slower but it's what's best for my metabolism. I'm currently allowing my body to adjust to eating more calories. I know there will be weight gain at first, but from my research, this is normal & eventually your body adjusts so you'll be able to lose weight in the long run. In the mean time, I've been doing a lot of strength training, eating lots of protein, & doing cardio on my "rest" days.

My Program:
I mostly do strength training, but I opt for cardio on days I'm too sore to get a good workout in.

Leg press:
300 - 390 lbs / 6 sets x 10

Hip abductor/adductor:
50 - 75 lbs / 6 sets x 10

Dumbbell curls/over head presses:
20-25 lbs / 3-4 sets x 10 each arm

Bench press:
120 lbs / 4 sets x 10

Hanging leg raises:
5-6 sets x 10

30 minutes Arc Trainer - Hill Interval Level 4

Hi Nikki, thank you for adding me as a friend a while back. I apologize that I've been off Spark for a while; I was dealing with some personal and family issues, which is why I did not have a lot of activity on my page. I am coming back to Spark now and will be getting more active again. Again, my apologies for the delayed response. God bless! Karen
