I'm almost 41, have 3 children(and 2 step children) and need to lose over a 100 pounds to be at a healthy weight. I'm hoping that joining Spark People will be the motivation I need to accomplish my goals.

My baby is now almost 5 and instead of the scale going down it has gone back up. At 6 weeks postbaby I was lighter than I had been in 2 years. Since then the pounds have come back on, It is a new day here though. I am getting set to lose the weight. I am looking forward to being a healhty me for myself and my wonderful family. I know it will take me time and effort to get where I want to be but I am willing to put it into me.

For the first time in years I am looking forward to changing what and how much of it I eat. It will be hard at first but I know each day will get easier. I know I will slip up at times but also know that with each slip up I will become stronger and be able to get back on the weight loss wagon much quicker.

I know I can do this. I am going to do this. The new healthy me is on the way.

Well I keep coming back saying I am ready but now it is not just me saying it. I have to do this. At the end of the year I have my yearly check up and if I don't do get myself under control and on the right track I am afraid I will have to add another doctor to my list of people to see on a regular basis, the endocrinologist. I am fearful that my weight is going to lead me to diabetes type 2. I can change this. I will change this.

Well at that check up everything was still good for me! Unfortunately for me I didn't change anything and still have not lost any of the weight and my check up will be coming up soon again and I would at least like to weigh less than what I did a year ago. Each year it gets harder and harder to lose the weight but this is the year for me, I can feel it. I promised myself that by my 40th birthday I would be at my goal weight. I don't think I will be at my final goal weight by then because I haven't worked hard enough but I can be close and am sure going to try to be closest to my final goal than I have been since I started on Spark!

My goal weight is to get down to 140 pounds(or less if possible)
First goal-240 pounds
GW2-225 pounds
GW3-210 pounds
GW4-195 pounds
GW5-180 pounds


My Program:
Try to fit in 30 minutes of physical activity a minimum of 3 times a week.

    Good job on your giving up the chips for Lent. One thing I have noticed is that the longer it is that I can eat less carbs or more nutrient dense carbs, the less I crave the simple sugars and chips. Maybe after this restriction you will be able to just keep it up.

    Hey Lady, how have you been? What's going on with you? I've been really working on my weight loss since July 2012 and I have lost 40lbs now.However I've been stuck for about a 2 months. But I've been doing more ST then cardio so I think that's partly why. My DH and I just started P90X so hopefully that will get me moving agian.
