I started my SparkPeople page in February of 2010. I ended up losing almost 50 pounds from this site! Unfortunately, a lot of events in my life caused me to lose focus and go back to my old habits. I ended up gaining all the weight that I lost back, plus some. :( Since it is a new year, I refuse to let this year get as horrible as 2010. I promised myself that 2011 will be the year that I do everything I've been wanting to do, starting with dropping the weight I've been trying to drop for years.

So many health concerns run in my family. Everything from diabetes, heart failure, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, you name it. I am 23 years old and already have a few of those, which is NOT okay. I am trying to drop this weight before I get any more health concerns, especially diabetes.

My main concern with losing this weight is to be able to feel confident and proud of the person I am. I have always had self-esteem issues, and hopefully this will bring out a whole new side of Nicole! :)

My Goals:
***General Goals***

- Drink 64 to 96 ounces of water each day.

- Eat between 1300 to 1500 calories each day.

- Try to cut out candy, pastries, and sweets (my biggest killers).

- Work my way up to doing to the elliptical for 30 minutes without stopping.

***Short-Term Goals***

- Lose 10 pounds (Weight = 256)

- Lose 20 pounds (Weight = 246)

- Lose 10% of SW (26.6lbs)(Weight = 239)

- Lose 40 pounds (Weight = 226)

- Lose 50 pounds (Weight = 216)

- Get under 200 pounds! (Weight = 199)

- Lose 100 pounds (Weight = 166)

***Long-Term Goal***

- Lose 140 pounds (Weight = 126)

My Program:
My program is fairly simple. I am cutting candy, sweets, and pastries out of my diet, which are my biggest killers. I am only drinking water, or Crystal Light. I completely cut soda out, even diet sodas. I am cooking my dinners and lunches every day, which mostly consist of chicken. I am limiting the red meat and salt out of my diet as well.

As far as exercise, I'm trying to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise for 3 days out of the week. This includes taking my dogs on a walk, using my elliptical, using the treadmill, or even lifting light weights to build extra muscle. We've even used the Wii Fit to give us extra fun exercise.
