Working my way toward best health and weight that works for me.

Fitness Minutes: 3,544

My Goals:
To be able to sustain aerobic activity for 10 to 20 minutes for heart health;
Improve physical condition through stretching and eventually add on light strength training;
Drink 8 glasses of water a day to prevent any further kidney disease;
Monitor diet to prevent diabetes (since tests show I have prediabetes) and hopefully over time drop 15 pounds;
Manage stress, including trying for regular meditation.
All this while working within some limitations caused by fibro pain and fatigue.

My Program:
I'm trying to improve my health since I learned early this year (2014) that I'm prediabetic, have high blood pressure and early stage kidney disease. Gosh was I blown away. After thinking the situation over, I decided to trim my work hours to 30 hours per week and use this new personal time for health improvement activities. Currently that includes light exercise (I have fibro and all activity causes pain), stretching and dabbling in meditation to reduce stress and tracking my diet on SparkPeople. While having been absent from SparkPeople for about 7 years, and gained 35 pounds during that period, I knew this was the place to turn. Thanks to everyone who welcomed me back.

Personal Information:
I live in the central U.S. - Missouri. We have cold winters and hot, humid summers!
My granddaughter lives a few states away. We try to schedule a week together every 3 or 4 months so I can "watch her grow."

Other Information:
I love sitting by my husband and watching evening TV together.
I enjoy "playing house" - that is setting a table with pretty linens and dishes. But my husband is the cook in our family.
