Read to bottom for new 11/3/17 update: My name is Ola. I am 63 years old. 7 years ago I lost 100 pounds, using Sparkpeople. I have since, gained it back and then some. Over the last 1 and a half, I have gone through a tremendous change. I lost my husband of 40 years and for the first time in my adult life, I am on my own. As a result, I moved across country to my birthplace and where my family is. That helped but I found that I had let myself go, physically and spiritually. I am in the midst of finding myself and part of that means losing this weight. I have tried several things like, the Mediterranean Diet, Weight Watchers, the 1+1+1 Diet. However, I realize, the only thing that has worked for me is tracking and counting my calories, and exercise. So, here I am back again. Over the last few months, I have been starting slow. I started by just concentrating on counting the calories. I then started walking or exercising for about 10 minutes, not everyday, but throughout the week. I now have the calorie counting down, and I am working on the exercise part. I have lost about 10 pounds, but am ready to be serious and lose the weight. My plan is to lose 50 pounds by October 2017. I will do that by having a differential in calories of -1000 calories a day. That is 2 pounds a week. I believe if I do my part, God will take me the rest of the the way. UPDATE 11/3/17 As of today, I have lost 50 pounds. I started in April 2016.My initial goal date for the first 50 was October 31,2017. I am only 4 days past due. That's pretty good.God is faithful. I am a third of the way there. I will now start on the next 50 My goal date for reaching the next 50 is May 2018.
