"Once in a blue moon we find a gem!" SO glad I happened upon Sparkpeople!

With age and less activity, my weight has gone up and I know I must get it down to help my joints feel better and to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. I do fine with tracking and moderation during the daytime, but compulsive eating habits often haunt my evenings.Still working on it!

Since I joined Sparkpeople, I have improved my attitude about diet and exercise, due especially to the wisdom and motivation of the wonderful Spark teams I was lucky to find AND to the Sparky individuals who keep me growing strong.

~Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day. (Author unknown.)

For health and happiness, I won't settle; I'm a Rebel!

Weigh-in Saturday thoughts...I know the number on the scale is just a snapshot of a moment in time. I know my weight loss is part of a long, continuous, lifelong journey. I expect to sometimes feel great about the number and where I am on the scale. Sometimes it won’t be that way. When I have gained weight I know I need to re-evaluate the foods in my diet, my activity & exercise levels, water I am drinking, the stress levels I am dealing with, and my sleep habits and patterns. I know the scale does not define who I am. It doesn't make me good or bad. It only tells me whether or not I am on track to reach my goals. Then I make the adjustments needed and continue to follow my daily plan and I will see results over time.

“No matter what the number is, you and your body are worthy of your love and the love of others. You are the same wonderful person with unique talents and strengths, regardless of the number on the scale or the size of your body.”
    -Shari Broder

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.”
    -Jillian Michaels

Success equals doing the best that you can with what you have! Every single day!

emoticon emoticon emoticon ~~THE WITCH~~ emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

She comes by night, in fearsome flight, In garments black as pitch,
the queen of doom upon her broom, the wild and wicked witch,
a crackling crone with brittle bones and desicated limbs,
two evil eyes with warts and sties and bags about the rims,
a dangling nose, ten twisted toes and folds of shriveled skin,
She hurtles by, she sweeps the sky and hurls a piercing screech.
As she swoops past, a spell is cast on all her curses reach.
Take care to hide when the wild witch rides to shriek her evil spell.
What she may do with a word or two is much too grim to tell.
    ~Jack Prelustky~
