Retired in 2016 and loving it. I live in Las Vegas. I love reading, my IPad and, when money permits, playing the penny slots.

August 2018

July came with changes for me. I decided to go back to work part-time. I got tired of my own company, I guess. Anyway, I took a job as a cashier with Goodwill industries. It gets me out of the house for a few hours a week, I am meeting and interacting with new people, plus it puts a little spending money in my pocket. I am enjoying it so far. I think knowing that I am working because I want to and not because I have to makes all the difference.

I’ve also decided to step away from the scale. After my August 1 weigh in, until my doctor’s visit for my 6 month checkup, I will be scale free. It’s going up on the shelf after my weigh in at the start of the month and there it will stay. My next weigh in will be September 5, at my six month doctor’s appointment.

A definite departure for me, as a weekly weigher, but my progress is so slow at the scale that the numbers was getting to me. Since I am losing inches and sizes, I know my journey has been successful so I am going to use my NSV’s to keep track for the next month.

I am down 64 pounds to date.

Heading into August with a positive mindset. I’ve got this.

Have a great month, Spark friends.
