I really like what MrsHoneyC said about participation. That is helping me BIG TIME. Talking to friends on teams where people understand what it takes to do this gives us support when it's missing elsewhere. I've discovered that GIVING support to others feels as good as GETTING it does because trust and friendship develops. So, active participation is important. It helps us WANT to do the things we know we need to do.

Well, first off a belated WELCOME to SparkPeople and the SP Class team of January 6-12, 2008!
In reply to your plea on the "HELP!" thread, I have found that participation is a great motivator. I see that you're a member of a few teams - are they "working" for you? By that, I mean are you able to "chat", ask questions, and have others reply to you? That would be my first suggestion - find a team the works FOR you. I use to run challenges on the SP Class team but became overwhelmed (took me over a year to hit that "overwhelmed" feeling!) and had to stop running challenges. A challenge is a great way to help you over some hurdles and keep you focused and motivated.
In the teams you're a member of, do you have anything in common with any of the other members (other than weight loss) where you can get some more "one-on-one" support?
I know it's a HARD battle when the people at home aren't supportive or subconsciously sabotage our results. In the end there's only one person who is responsible for our actions - that is ourselves. (Although I had such horrible times with my husband that I was truly ready to throw in the towel, I had to remind myself that "this" was not about HIM - it was about ME.)
CONGRATS on your current loss and GOOD LUCK on your continuing journey to a HEALTHIER lifestyle!

~MrsHoneyC~ Team Leader, SP Class January 6-12, 2008, aka Honey's Busy Bees!

*note - the only person who gets a notification that there's a comment on your page is you, so if you want someone to see that you've seen their comment you've got to go to their page and leave a comment there. I didn't know that for about 6 months after joining SP.
