Introduction Text I have always been heavy as an adult. 6 years ago I adopted my newborn grandson (he was a drug baby). when he was 11 months old I was diagnosed with cancer. several chemo treatments and radiation treatments later I am cancer free and I have just passed the the magic 5 year mark praying for no reoccurance. The cancer and weight has me worried about being around long enough to see this beautiful boy graduate high school. He saved my life because I was not going to do the chemo since I had seen how it made my mother so sick when she battled her cancer and she didnt survive. I had seen my onclolgist and told him as well as my 7 adult children and husband of my decision. After my appointment I came home and this beautiful boys smile just lit up the room when I walked in the door. That was the moment I realized I had to to the treatments the doctor recomended.....Besause of his beautiful bright smile and his need for me ... my life.was saved...now I need to get this weight off and be healthier to be here for him as he grows up. I wrote most of this almost two years ago and have since lost my husband of 40 years just a short 3 months ago. It has become even more important for me to loose this weight and get healthy. My beautiful 6 year old boy only has me as a parent now and I have to be here for him. I had lost 30 pounds only to give up once again and gain back 18 pounds back. I am starting again and staying on track til I reach my goal then I will maintain the healthy eating and lifestyle. My promise to the little boy who is counting so much on me!
