Hi! I was on about 9 years ago, but became a little discouraged and very sidetracked. 6 1/2 years ago, when my doctor advised me that my heart attack risk was high, I decided, "That's it." It's time to do something now." At first, I tried to do it on my own but felt I needed the accountability of tracking my food and exercise to ensure I was doing enough. Since then, it has taken off. I have two friends (a married couple) who "reintroduced" me to and gave me some pointers on how to use it. It's going very well now. I have been "at goal" for 3 years now. Unfortunately, I did inherit my dad's heart problems, and I will be having heart surgery in two weeks. Since I lost so much weight, that prevented me from having blocked arteries. I'm happy to say I don't need bypasses. I'm having the aortic valve replaced. The surgery won't be as invasive as it might have been otherwise. It was discouraging, at first, to find out I still have heart problems, but they are genetic and not the result of my previous unhealthy lifestyle of eating and being so sedentary.

Thank you for your comment on my blog today. . We all handle things differently, especially in a small town. Just the notification that Spark is dropping us foreigners is devastating. The motivation to stay on track, spin the wheel, etc. has certainly decreased. I need to find a replacement platform. All the best! Dee

Thanks for commenting on that "best advice" blog!! The pandemic has been really tough for many of us but I really think you're right -- we do need to keep weight loss/maintenance in perspective as best we can and try to find as much pleasure in life as possible!!

Yes, it has been 4 years, but I need to really get back on track. I think I'm on my way. I'm also making some small, but significant, changes in my lifestyle. I've maintained 3/4 of my weight lost. Thank you all for the congrats and encouragement!
