Hi y'all! I'm Amanda, a writer and SAHM from San Antonio, TX. I was previously on Spark under the name POOKASLUAGH, where I lost 105 lbs and maintained that loss for two years. From 2014 to 2017, my family became nomadic. Through four cross-country moves over three years, my health suffered. Stress, injury, medications, family problems, and health issues (both physical and mental) have been a big part of the last few years, and I regained about 80 lbs during that time. My family has finally permanently settled back in San Antonio, TX, and I'm glad to be HOME again. I'm ready to focus on my health, nutrition, and fitness. I want my body and life to be back under my control again! Hopefully soon, I can find my way back to being truly healthy again.

My Goals:
I've chosen 150 lbs as a general goal at a healthy BMI, slightly lower than I ever got on my previous journey. However, more important than the number is the vision: I want to be strong, flexible, healthy, kind, and confident, both externally and internally. Other goals include:

- To get up from cross-legged to standing without using my hands or knees
- To do 30+ full push-ups without stopping
- To be able to hang from the pull-up bar for 30+ seconds
- To do 5+ pull-ups
- To be able to run a 5K again
- To fit into non-plus-size clothes
- Complete a full downward dog pose (heels down) - DONE!
- To be able to do jumping jacks for a full minute again
- To be able to do skater/pistol squats on each leg
- To be able to hold a crow pose
- To fit into my wedding ring again
- To fit into my wedding dress again
- To improve my insulin level (insulin resistance, PCOS) enough to be off Metformin - DONE!
- Try out cross-fit
- To weigh less than my hus

My Program:
I'm a big advocate of You Do You, and think this journey is unique to each of us.

Things that work for me: yoga, walking, moderate diet without severe restrictions, talk therapy, touch therapy, social support (especially in-person), avoiding sugar and other refined carbs, and body positivity.

Things that DON'T work for me: prayer, detoxification diets, calories in vs calories out (alone), heavy strength training, HIIT, and meatless diets.

Late 30s, mom of three, writer, former reluctant nomad. I'm 5'6 and was previously known on Spark as POOKASLUAGH, where I lost 105 lbs and maintained that weight for two years.
