Hi, I'm Lilly, and I will be 40 in September. I have been morbidly obese since I was 8 years old, when I truly began relying on food to get through childhood. Coming on 40, I am finally beginning to embrace myself and truly love the really cool person I see looking back at me in the mirror. Not only do I want to change my outsides for the healthier, I want to clean house between my ears, clear the wreckage of my past, and learn to live each day to the fullest.
My long term goals are to be a long-distance bicyclist, and to seriously get involved with weightlifting. I have been working hard at a local food pantry for over a month, and I am already so happy with the way my biceps are beginning to pop! (Never mind the bat wings! :)
Moving to the Adirondacks, I promised myself I would learn to live by the motto on my favorite coffee mug: "On Cabin Time." And slowly, I am. Having grown up in a fairly large city, I am savoring learning to slow down, and just let life flow like the Saranac river.
I have lost 19 pounds so far, and I am so proud of myself. I am finally learning to make little tiny changes, one at a time, and simply working at enjoying the process of healing myself.
I struggle with a lot of lower back pain, and I have Achilles tendonitis in my ankles from years of excess of weight and overkill on the walking. I never let it stop me: I firmly believe what we put into the Universe we get out of it, and knowing that; that I am a part of the very essence of life, light energy, and my Higher Power, I will succeed!

Fitness Minutes: 16,165

My Goals:
To make a goal to get 86 pounds off, and then see where to go from there.

To be active everyday.

To choose to eat healthily, and wisely everyday.

To learn to love myself and be gentle with myself.


My Program:
Lifting, stocking, and sorting at the local food pantry for three to six hours at least two days a week.

On days I am not at the food pantry, I either walk for an hour, or bike for an hour and a half. My bike is now a single speed, so it is a heck of a workout!

20 pushups a day on my fitness ball

45 minutes of weight training with 10lb barbells, four days a week.

walking all three flights of stairs in my apartment building at least three times a day
