My Page Title used to be "Let the Skinny Girl Free!" but I decided to change Skinny to NEW.

August of 2010, I reached a peak weight of 211 lbs. My parents had just come to visit our family and we took a camping trip together. Everything was hard for me... just the short trip to the bathrooms across the street left me out of breath. I felt uncomfortable no matter where I was sitting. I FELT horrible. But it wasn't until I saw the pictures and was asking my mom to delete every one that I was in because of how big I looked compared to everyone else, that it hit me that I needed to do something. I would rather not be remembered at all than to be remembered like this. "This is not God's best for me!" I realized.

So I picked up a book that I had on my shelf for years. I had even begun reading it before but was looking for a quick fix, not a heart change. This time was different. I knew this was more than just being a certain size. I had some real issues that I knew God wanted to deal with. The weight was just a visible consequence of some heart issues that needed to be addressed.

So I started reading, and started listening to the Lord, and making choices. I quit eating mindlessly, and impulsively, and started including the Lord in the areas of my life that were affecting my health. Slowly, I released 20 lbs. and was feeling great. My clothes were all hanging off of me and I was beginning to see the person I am supposed to be on the outside, but most of all realizing that there was a new me on the inside being transformed.

As ALWAYS happens, difficulty came a-knocking, and literally knocked me sideways turning my life upside down for a time. As hard as it was, I am grateful for it and see how the Lord used it for the work He is doing on the inside. Maybe a necessary step for me personally that was not addressed in my book. But now that we are moving past that I want to keep moving forward on this journey to a healthy, happy and peaceful life... knowing that this is what God's best for me is.

It's so much more than being skinny. It's about becoming new... it's about the inside, not so much the outside. But what is happening on the inside is having an affect on the outside, and I am excited to see what God will do with that too!

I believe that Jesus has saved me from my sin and the power of death. Surely saving me from the power of my flesh is no difficult thing for Him... I trust that He will be true to His promises in His Word!

My Goals:
I am turning 30 in May. My goal is to be living a fit and healthy lifestyle before I head into my 30's, so I can enjoy my best years with my husband and children.

160 - Get My Hair Done
155 - Getaway with my Hubby

My Program:
Baby steps... right now I am using Thin Within principles, and taking opportunities with my kids to be active (kicking a ball, riding bikes, playing tag, doing kartwheels! lol) I'm also using Wii Fit whenever I can, and walking with Leslie Sansone at least a mile daily.

Personal Information:
My name is Johnna, and I am 29. Happily married to the man of God's dreams for me, and we have two darling children that bring so much joy into our lives. We recently moved to help with a church plant and that has made for a very hard year, but we have experienced miracles and God's faithfulness like never before. God is good. All the time.
