Been a while since I uploaded a pic. Around 178 - jumping for joy after my most recent triathlon!
Figure I should upload a new pic. :) Fall 2013, going out with the hubby for a run!
When I started this in Jan 2007, one of my big goals was to look hot on my wedding day. =) 10-4-09

GOGOGOGOGO Sapphires! ;)
Hi, I'm Quix, a video game producer going into her 30's fitter than she's been in 10 years. I've lost 115 or so lbs so far as of writing this, and I'm the fittest and smallest I've been in my adult life. Spark has been a fantastic experience and has helped me stay honest and on track with eating and my exercise. My goal is no longer to just be skinny, but be strong, powerful, and less jiggly! Spark has been a fantastic experience and has helped me stay honest and on track with eating and my exercise. My goal is no longer to just be skinny, but be strong, powerful, and less jiggly! I'm trying for a modest 5 lbs a month loss while adding as much muscle as I can. Sometimes those lbs come quick, and sometimes they take forever, but I'll get there!
As of 6/17/08, I am no longer obese! Woohoo!
As of 8/12/08, I hit my first long term goal of 170!
As of 10/15/08, I have lost 100 lbs!
As of 2/21/09, I ran my first 5k race! (PB currently: 27:29)
As of 4/25/09, I ran my first 10k race! (PB currently: 56:54)
As of 6/20/09, I ran my first half marathon race! (PB currently: 2:16:18)

My Goals:
2013 - I completed my second and third half ironman, and my second marathon, along with a 10 mile race and a bunch of shorter triathlons. I steadily improved this year even with a knee injury. Working on 2014 goals, the first one is to smash my personal record in the half marathon in January.
My Program:
I run, bike, swim, and lift weights, anywhere from ~5 hours a week on light weeks to 13 hours on peak training weeks.
Eating lots of good, healthy, minimally processed, organic food most of the time, and having the flexibility to enjoy a slice of deep dish or piece of birthday cake and not worry about it. I tend to find myself feeling better if I stick to more vegetarian type food than not. I am not afraid of carbs, they help me get through workouts and races!
I also make sure to get enough sleep and recovery to keep myself going!
Personal Information:
My backstory: I grew up a dancer, gymnast, and springboard diver. I never really had major weight issues until I hit college where I hovered just under the 200s. Then after college I started to gain...and gain...and gain. I tried the Atkins diet and lost a crap ton of weight - just because I hated everything I could eat so I just prefered not to. That came back within a year and I topped out at around 265. When I walked into a store and had to buy a size 24 pair of jeans, I knew it was time to do something.
I made a new years resolution in 2007 to finally lose the weight in a way that didn't disrupt my life like atkins and that I could do for the rest of my life. I did well, but got stalled out, and then found sparkpeople 7 months later - and the rest is history. I'm finally an athlete again and at a healthy weight.
