Over here on the soggy Oregon Coast, if you can't find inspiration in the rain, your soul will just dissolve away. It's hard to stay excited about exercise and healthy eating habits when the rain and hail are blowing around for the umpteenth week straight and all you want to do is sit inside in the gloom with your munchies and watch TV.

I fight the gloomies by reading, writing, and practicing music with friends. I do enjoy sharing meals with friends, as well. Food is one of life's great delights, and I enjoy preparing meals to share.

Of course, eventually the skies clear (if only temporarily), we emerge from the gloom, and get out to enjoy the glorious outdoors.

My Goals:
I just want to be drop-dead gorgeous.

Seriously, I'd like to be at the middle-upper part of my healthy weight range. I've been thinner than that, but really don't want to spend my whole life obsessed with my weight. Healthy-normal is good enough for me.

I want to be fit enough to enjoy a nice hike or get through a work day without becoming exhausted.

My Program:
Mostly, I just want to eat healthy foods and get up and moving. I really believe that a successful diet plan shouldn't be complicated. I won't follow a plan that tells me what to eat and when, and I'm pretty sure the people I cook for won't either!

I found these Motivational Quotes to remind employees and others to eat healthily at work and in the home:-
"You can't change where you come from.
You can change where you are going"

" We are what we repeatedly do"

    "The first wealth is health"

"Never eat more than you can lift"

" We never repent of having eaten too little"

"He that takes medicine and neglects diet wastes the skills of the physician"

"Those who think they have no time for healthy eating will sooner or later have to find time for illness"

"The wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings. Let food be your medicine"

"To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art"

I found these very thought provoking. Hope you enjoy them too.

Hope you don’t mind I added you as a friend.

Have you battened down the hatches for the wind and rain predicted for tomorrow? Sorry I missed you in August. I have been sick and off work since the beginning of September. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks for the comment on my blog... I bet you do a heck of a lot more driving than walking from house to house. I can have 30 places to count on one block, so I'm rarely in the car.
Oooooh- walking along/near the coast, counting vacation homes.... sounds fun!

Oh goodness, I LOVE Oregon strawberries. Can't wait! Those numbers represent my exercise for the month. My goal is 26 days this month (out of 31) and so far I have done 11!!! Everday in May!
