Hi Everyone!

Well, as 2008 comes to a close, and 2009 begins, I thought it would be a good time to take a tally of my accomplishments, and reevaluate my goals.

First, a little bit about myself. My name is Nicole, and I'm a 24 year old physical therapy student living in Toronto, Canada. I've been a vegetarian since September 2007, and now I like to call myself a "strict" vegetarian, since I lean mostly towards veganism, although I'm not 100% there. I have three adorable pet rats that make me laugh and smile every day. A lot of people think I'm strange for having rats as pets...but let me tell you rats are truly special creatures! I love to run, and I completed my first half-marathon in October of this year :) In my spare time, I like to read, knit and indulge in my guilty pleasure: reality television!

I discovered spark in May (I think?) of 2008, when a group that I was with on ediets moved over here. I've met so many wonderful sparkfriends that have truly motivated me, and helped me forge forwards towards my goals! Thank you to each and every one of you!

Things that I'm proud of from 2008...

1) I'm 15-ish pounds lighter than I was at the start of 2008
2) Exercise has become much more of a habit - I'm faster, I'm stronger, and I'm more fit.
3) I ran my first half-marathon and met my time goal!
4) I got into all three physical therapy programs that I applied to.
5) I moved into my own apartment for the first time (no roomies) and am loving it

Things that I want to accomplish in 2009

1) Reach my ultimate goal weight of 125 lbs
2) Run 3-4 times weekly, and strength train twice weekly
3) Run more races this year, including a second half-marathon! (and beat last years half-marathon time!!)
4) Build my self-esteem to become the confident person that I want to be
5) Adopt better time management and planning skills to decrease school stress
6) Move forward, up and away from the break-up of my long-term relationship in April 2008.

    Hey there, When's your half marathon?? I'm jealous! My 10K is Monday...but I wiped out today. GRRR! Darn uneven pavement. Sore ankle and road rash on my palm and knee, but I was able to jog the rest of the way home, so hopefully it won't be TOO stiff tomorrow.

    Hey, we're on the same BLC Vegan team. GO US!! (we need to decide on a name so I can cheer "GO _______" instead) :) I do believe we're gonna rock the vegan world! Hee!!

    Just getting excited. Long weekend coming up, weight is down, race on Monday and a new Spark Challenge has commenced. It's allllll good!
