Cultivating an attitude of gratitude and mindfulness are among my priorities as I thrive at my healthy weight. My fondness for affirmations continues to make actions (exercise) an expression of appreciation.

"A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before we changed."

Rebecca - thanks for your kind words. in addition to spark you have made an important step forward in your goal of good health - that of quitting smoking. you rock! if you ever need encouragement, i'm here for you. i know you can do this. it is hard at times, i will not lie - but sometimes the things that are the hardest to accomplish are the best things for us in more ways than just the obvious. they show us our strengths, teach us patience, and change us forever as human beings.

Hi I am Debby alias chews2lose. I want to tell you how much I enjoy your poetry. You write very well and I take pleasure in reading it. I am sure you must have plenty more and if not you should. I hope you keep posting.

I cannot thank you enough for setting up the gratitudes board. I have used the word "thankful" in three email addresses over the years, and I truly believe recognizing and acknowleging the beauty upon this planet and our many personal gifts is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and for those we encounter.

I love having a place to post what I am grateful for each day. When I take a moment consciously set aside to list them, I think I could go on for pages. On those, thankfully few, days when I am struggling, just reading others' gratitudes puts me right back in the appreciative mode.

I think you and I could be great friends....and by the way, I am excited to hear how well you are doing with your smoking. I quit years before the patch came along....blew bubbles, yes, bubbles. We lived in a little house with a half acre of beautiful flowers, and greenery. I used to sit on my stairs, and hold the blower like a cigarette. Breathed in and out, in and out, and instead of seeing smoke rise, I watched the beautiful rainbows on the bubbles....people thought I was nuts, but it sure worked for me!
