I want to be active and healthy in the lives of my children. I''m a single mom of three wonderful children, and they need me to be healthy. I am retired ARMY and have degrees in radiology and medical science technology, Currently, I am going back to school for psychology. That is something I could not have imagined doing the last couple of years. I had some very rough times health and other-wise the last few years. I was not able to even leave my bed. I honestly got to the point where I didn''t know if I could see a light or a path for me anymore. I do not want to talk about what happened to me in the past few years, but if it was not for a strong faith I would not be here today. As soon as I started improving, I knew that I needed to lose all that weight I had gathered and exercise to regain strength. I started my campaign seriously May 1st. My starting weight was 200lbs. I lost 10 pounds in May and now June another 10. Now at 180 lbs, I have about 40 more to go. I am not going to give up because my family is important to me, and I need to be present in their lives and enjoy the life I was given.

My Goals:
I want to be able to enjoy life with a healthy body. When I say healthy, I'm referring to quality of life... not looks. If getting and being 140 lbs means living longer with my children and being able to participate physically in their life and mine....then that is my goal.


My Program:
I eat 1200-1500 calories a day usually. I have no problems maintaining that since giving up Mt. Dews. My carbs, protein, and fat always are about in the middle of what spark recommends. I sometimes allow up to 1800 calories every now and then because of the amount of physical activity I have. I go on long walk/jog days around 4 days a week. Usually about 6-10 miles. Three days a week I set a minimum light walk of no less than 5000 steps to make sure I keep active on light days. I do some thing like 30 day shred every other day now. Used to be every day except one. I do an additional abdominal work out 3 times a week. I use Leslie Sansone's walk dvds frequently too. I also do extra squats, planks, push-ups, and sit-ups about everyday.
