Steve's Remodeling in Process: My Temple Restoration Project - My body/Gods temple
Hello, my name is Steve welcome to my page.
For too many years I have abused my body and not taken care of it by loving me. As a Christian I am told to love others as I love myself. Im not promoting a stuck on yourself pride but a love that longs to care for ones self. So how can I truly love God, my wife, family and others if I dont truly love myself? Ouch!!!

Ouch!!!
June 2010 I decided it was time that I love me and have that love for me reflected in my physical appearance, attitude and actions. So I started on this journey to restore my body/Gods temple. It wasnt until November of 2010 that I discovered SparkPeople and it was just what God knew I needed. So at the age of 51 I am learning a new life style in eating and being active. I can't do anything about the past, but I will do something about the future with Gods help.
So the journey to date (9-19-11) has taken me 15 months, 5 months before Sparkpeople and 10 months with SP. I have learned a lot about Steve in those 15 months and I know there is still a lot to learn. But one thing I know is that I can never return to the life I used to have. I say that because I am enjoying this new lease on life that has been created by this Lifestyle Change. So I continue to progress forward toward my goal, which by the way is 23lbs away. I should reach my goal by my first marathon in January 2011. To learn more about my journey read my blogs.
Keep your focus on God and on your successes regardless how small. And keep a positive attitude.

Goals for 1/15/12 - 1/20/12
In my earlier blog I shared about signing up for different events for the year to give me goals to shoot for. Well I have accomplished that goal. I am now registered for:
1. April 21, 2012 - Pat Tillman run this will be the first event I am training to run in not powerwalk.
2. June 6, 2012 Walking/Hiking into the Grand Canyon (and back outlol)
3. October 27, 2012 - Lincoln Family Downtown Y half Marathon (& 5k walk/run) Im doing the Marathon
4. January 20, 2013 PF Chang Marathon (26.2)
5. A couple of fun walks and hikes
6. And do several walks/hikes with local Spark friends
February 2, 2012
WooHoo!!!! Its official I now weight 170lbs, that means I have officially reached my goal. As for today I have lost 175lbs. Not its time to switch to maintaining this new lifestyle change.
Weight Update: 8-22-13
I have been able to maintain my weight between 163-168 pounds for 1 years now. It was far easier losing the weight then keeping it off. I have to really work at keeping my focus as I readjust my calorie intake and continue to work on fine tuning my fitness program. I like a poster I saw the other day. Fitness is not a destinationIts a way of life I will always have to keep vigilant if I want to stay fit. And I will always have to be adjusting my calorie intake based on my physical activity level and age. But with Gods help I will succeed.
