Hi Sairahk, They gave me the option of spinal anesthesia wish is safer than general anesthesia. My knee has no pain at all and I am walking perfectly after only three weeks! More important than your age is the determination to lead life to its fullest. Losing weight is very important because until you get to a certain weight they will not do the surgery. I met an older gentleman and his wife. He had both of his knees and his hip replaced and he said he is doing wonderfully and is riding a bike twenty miles a trip! He also told me that hip surgery is easier that knee surgery which surprised me. As long as you have joy and love in your life and are able to do the things you wish to do, it doesn't matter if you have trouble with your knees and hip. I fixed mine because I couldn't live the life I wanted without having it replaced and I am 57. You may find if you continue to lose weight and work on moving round as much as you are able you'll have a full and happy life without surgery! I wish you well! 1655 days ago
