Wow. I've been Sparking a long time now. I joined when Spark had only a few thousand members and they charged a fee!! Seems like ages--and sometime just the blink of an eye.

And heading into my 7th year on Spark (with some long hiatuses I'll admit), many things are the same--in a good way. I continue my vigilance to maintain an healthy weight (with the ups and downs that come with the territory)--and continue to rely on Spark when I find myself floundering.

The last year has brought big changes. A year ago I celebrated my 40th birthday with a 400-mile cycling trek through the desert in Utah. (Sometimes you've just got to prove you've still got it!) Perhaps that venture proved to me I have the strength to do hard things-- and with my divorce finalized in June of this year, I jump back into a new life and have lots of positive reasons to stay healthy and balanced and on-track. I've put marathons and epic cycling events on the back burner for short runs and Hot Yoga for a while. I'm sure I'll get the urge for some feat of strength again soon, but for now I'm seeking only balance.

And I head into my 41st birthday I'm back here to my loyal friend, Spark, to help me make sure I'm at my 122-lb weight as I blow out the candles. This year will mark 16 years running that I've not logged a higher weight than the year before on my birthday--my personal goal and way of keeping myself honest so the one-pound-here-one-pound-there never catches up to me. This year, I'll focus on maintaining that weight and building my strength and muscle mass--and flexibility and mental peace.

I've just moved my long string of start-to-now Spark history to a blog for all who are interested--but will leave this general intro as a testament to the staying power of a Sparked lifestyle!!

    Becky, Congrats on your 3 mile run in 30 minutes!! WOW that is just awesome. You've already surpassed me in speed, next will be distance LOL I just love your posts, you made me laugh.... food, did I mention I ran today?? (too cute) Way to go!!!! You will smoke your 5K!

    Hi! I was just browsing through my posts and I noticed that you had asked for our pizza dough recipe. Its not a diet recipe, my husband and I have made bread and pizza many times but we saw them do this one on Everyday Food and thought we'd try it. We used this recipe here
    It makes 4 about 10 inch pizzas but we divided it in three and froze several of the balls. Then we would take one ball and make two very thin pizzas from that and I could only each half of one of those. It is really easy and really fun to make homemade pizza.

    Its fun getting to know you on the Spark in the Dark team! I, too, have gotten a little (well, maybe a lot) obsessive about my food tracking. I am afraid of reaching my weight goal and losing motivation. You are doing great and you look fabulous!
