Jan. 2019: I’ve been using my fitness pal for a while but have fallen off the wagon after having stayed near goal for a couple of years. Now I need some real motivation and support so I’m back to sparking where I know I can get the support I need.

March, 2014: Starting again!

2013: Up 40 pounds - what a disappointment. I had kept 50 pounds off for about 5 years. A neck injury and then menopause are my "excuses". I'm sure it had nothing to do with slipping back into some very bad eating habits.

2012: up 20 pounds. :-( Time to get back on the spark wagon.

2010 upate: 2010 was a rough year - pinched nerve, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, myofascial pain syndrome..... = weight gain.

I turned 48 in October, 2009 and am healthier than I was in my 30's. As a wife, mother and grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren it is often difficult to put my needs first.

With the help of Sparkpeople, my Sparkfriends and my family (even my DH who often sabotages me), I've lost almost 50 pounds. My goal is to never gain it back again. With the support of all of you, I truly believe this time I'll keep the weight off!

I have finally come to the realization that I am not on a diet but am living a healthy lifestyle. I try to make healthy food choices, watch my portion sizes, put my fork down when I'm full and I love to exercise. The hardest part for me is to not be so critical of myself when I don’t do all of those things, because there are times I fall off the wagon and lose control and the old eating habits take over. Instead of giving up though (as I have done so many times in the past) Sparkpeople has given me the tools and friends that I need to climb back on the sparkwagon and continue on my journey.

My Goals:
Eat healthy, exercise daily (or almost) and keep the weight off this time.

Bad habits to break: --mindless snacking in front of the TV
that ruins an otherwise "Good SP Day!"


My Program:
I am back to logging in calories every day!

I had a weight gain this past summer, so... back to being a strict Sparker!






Personal Information:
I live in the Adirondacks (upstate NY) with my husband and two cats. We have 2 wonderful children and 4 amazing grandchildren. Life is good!

Job -- paralegal.

Interests -- exercising, reading and spending time with the family.
