"Big" Little Debbie
My name is Debbie, and I'm 53 years old. I used to be called Little Debbie, but I don't feel like the name suits me right now. Despite what other people have said in the past, I have never felt like I was skinny. I knew I was healthy, but I never actually felt skinny. Oh how I wish I was back there again.

Back in October of 2008 I was searching for a job. I went in for an interview at a place and absolutely fell in love with it. The problem was, that I had to quit smoking in order to work there. Well I did good on putting the cigarettes down. I'm not going to say it was easy, because it wasn't... at all. But, because of quitting, I started eating poorly and even waking up in the middle of the night and eating (which used to be fixed by smoking cigarettes). When it comes down to it, I got rid of one bad habit to gain another. Stress didn't help with the situation either. I get bored... I eat, I feel lonely... I eat, someone says something negative, and I eat. It is a bunch of bad habits that I am going to be working hard to conquer. I have set my fast break goals for Sparkpeople and so far, I am doing really well with following the plan.
I started off with throwing a lot of my junk food away and actually reading nutrition labels. I never even thought about looking at them before. I have also started walking ON PURPOSE around the property and am drinking lots of water during the day. I am trying different things to cope with my waking up and eating in the middle of the night and they have helped some, but I can't keep myself from getting out of bed to get something.
So, I have started making changes and I'm sure there will be many more to follow in the months to come.
