Jan, 2020: It's been several years since I've followed a healthy lifestyle and naturally my weight has slowly creeped up to where I'm almost at my heaviest weight.

I really struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle for an extended period of time. I do just fine while I'm in the process of losing weight, and I can maintain for about year. After that, I stop being accountable to myself and the weight comes back and the exercises stop.

My Goals:
Maintain a healthy lifestyle including nutrition, exercise and well-being for life.

Broad goals for 2020:
1. Attain ideal weight and maintain it
2. Become more active physically
3. Improve strength and balance
4. More involved with family & friends
5. More productive "free" time

My Program:
1. Reach ideal weight for my age and height
2. Daily exercise
3. Staying positive

Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition
1. Fruits
2. Vegetables
3. Whole Grains
4. Beans & Legumes
5. Nuts & Seeds
6. Minimal oil, refined sugar & processed foods.
7. Mostly vegetarian meals.

Personal Information:
I'm 67 years old retired CPA. I'm married and we have 2 boys and 5 grandchildren. Unfortunately, we don't see them that often since they are out-of-state except for one granddaughter.

All the activities I enjoy seem to be sedentary activities (quilting, needlework, video games, reading) and I'm really going to work at changing that. I've started taking a couple walks per day (averaging over 2 miles total) and I want to join a Yoga class and do a few minutes of strength and balancing exercises a few times a week. Instead of being vegan as in the past, I'm going for a mostly vegetarian diet.

Other Information:
Feb 2020 Update: I've made good progress on exercising each day. My routine now includes 10 min of stretching in the morning, a daily walk or walking tape, strength training a few times per week and Yoga a few times per week. I can tell I'm getting stronger and more flexible.

I've started doing the Beginner Interval Walking Workout 3 times per week as part of the daily walk. One of my goals is to progress to the Intermediate workout and also be able to do the 28-Day Bootcamp DVD which I started and decided to put off until I felt better able to do it.
