So this is to update my page as to where I stand today. As of 6-25-12 I have maintained a 40 pound weight loss since 2009. however I have gainied back 20 pounds since my lowest weight of 154 and am on a mission to lose them again.
I have been keeping my food and activity log current and reading many weight loss journey stories here on Spark People. I have been a member since 2009 and I sincerely believe I could not have done this without many of the helpful resources I have found on thisw website.

My name is Shawnda, and as far back as I can remember I have been overweight. Poor eating habits during my childhood ran over into extreme obesity in adulthood. At one point I was 225 on a 5 foot three inch frame, but when I was pregnant with my son I ballooned up to 248. Thankfully after the pregnancy my weight came back to a steady 220 but I was not happy. A friend of mine at work lost alot of weight and she inspired me to do the same. She told me she started watching her calorie intake and excersizing and I became so excited by the prospect that that could be my story. So I embarked on a journey that will follow me for the rest of my life. I went to my local library and checked out all the books I could on nutrition and fitness and attacked this thing with a vengeance! It came down to one very simple thing. How bad do I want this? Well let me tell you that my mother and father are both severely obese and I watch them suffer with diabetes and heart problems high blood pressure, etc. THAT WILL NOT BE ME. I realized if I do not settled this weight issue once and for all, I am destined to follow the same path they are on. I do not want my kids to have my health to contend with. God made me a strong woman inside, and He will help me reach my full potential on the outside. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I hope to reach a weight of about 130 by next summer, but right now I will take one little improvement at a time.

My Goals:
I would like to be able to do the work God has for me to do, in the body He created me with, not what I have made of it.

My Program:
I am eating between 1200-1400 calories/ day

eating three meals and a snack

consistently keeping my meals at about 400 calories

walking 1 mile/ day excluding weekends

rebounding and lifting light weights

Personal Information:
I live in East Texas I have a wonderful husband and two children.

Other Information:
My favorite book is the bible, it is Gods word and without it I would not have a road map for my life.
