I want to stay motivated and maintain a healthy lifestyle so that I can enjoy my retirement & travel with my DH. I've seen too many people retire and then just go downhill, energy and health-wise. This CAN be the best time of my life but it'll take work and commitment. I want to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

WV transplant to Hampton Roads VA with a couple of side trips to live in southern CA. I now live in Central Florida in one of the only two towns in FL that has hills.
Diagnosed with breast cancer 12/23/2007, surg. in Jan. 2008. I remain cancer-free! I do have Fibro and arthritis but try hard not to let them stop me.

Other Information:
Love my husband who is retired from the Navy and was a Merchant Marine for awhile. We're enjoying retirement in Central FL. I have a great son and sweet DIL who live in FL, too. We have a new rescue Lab as of 6/17 that we named Tess. She has a feline sister, Sedona who is 12 yrs old and has epilepsy.
Love to read, garden, do yoga, walk, and my friends & family. I do volunteer work at a local Genealogy grp and also at a Lab rescue called Houndhaven, Inc.
I'm also a Mammosite Volunteer in FL as a resource for breast cancer patients who will be or have gone thru Mammosite radiation.

California already had a bad fire. It started May 2 in the Ventura County area, but because we had high winds, it burned all the way down to the Santa Monica Mountains. I'm pretty sure it is out now, as it rained down there Tuesday. What a blessing. This is early for fires. Fingers crossed we won't have a bad summer!

The Mountains in Leona Valley get snow. Really pretty area. Usually it is green, but with the drought, everything is dry. We didn't even have poppies this year.

Thank you for the bouquet of flowers goodie and your lovely message I truly appreciate that. I'm very happy to hear that you have an appointment with your endo and pray he/she can help you with your transient "disconnect". I have friends with fibromyalgia and one of their symptoms seems to be disconnect as well but not every day does that happen. It must be not only scary but darn right maddening to have this happen!!! Getting "older" is not for sissies that's for sure. Never know when the brain will fail us or what aches and pains we might wake up with!! BTW we are both the same age. I will be 73 on October 23. Thank you again for the Goodie and message.
